When I woke up Zoe had already left. I didn´t call her, but I started to think something was terribly wrong. I got ready and went to work. As usual, Gibbs, McGee and Bishop were already working. Just when I seated, Bishop started talking.
-I found something Gibbs! -she said, pretty happy.
-Go ahead -replied Gibbs.
-I spend the whole night thinking about why Northwood got killed and I think I finally have a clue. I found an e-mail to his brother begging him to leave the band.
-Did Matt answer? -I asked.
-He did actually. He says that he will have a sleep on it.
-So Ryan was trying to save his brother from prison -supposed McGee- what a good brother!
-If any member knew that, he could have got really angry and kill Ryan -I said- I will investigate them.
-Fine, while DiNozzo does that, McGee and Bishop, bring Matt here for interrogation, he may have an idea of who could have done this.
-On it boss -yelled McGee and Bishop at the same time.
I had plenty of work to do, so I forgot about Zoe. When I opened the file of “The deadly skulls” I saw that it had over a hundred members and I got a bit desperate. I spent the whole day investigating every single member and I got nothing interesting.
Fortunately, the interrogation was useful. Matt told Gibbs that Dakota, one of the most important men in the band, had tried to convince Ryan to enter the band, but he denied. That made Dakota angry, but it didn´t go any further. That statement made Dakota the principal suspect, so Gibbs and I went to arrest him.
It was dawn already but we found Dakota playing basketball in the street near his apartment. He didn´t resist when we arrested him. He spent the whole way to the headquarters saying that he was innocent whatever he was supposed to have done.
The interrogation was very tense because Dakota was totally defensive. Gibbs and I made a lot of effort to get information and we were very direct from the beginning.
-Did you kill Ryan Northwood? -I asked.
-Wait what? -he said, surprised- Even though I hated that boy that doesn´t mean I killed him, okay?
-No it doesn´t, but we know that he declined your invitation to enter the band and that he was trying to make his brother leave it, so that could have made you furious and push you to murder him -said Gibbs.
-Firstly, yes, I couldn´t convince him but I was okay with it, I didn´t get very angry because of that. And secondly, I had no idea he was trying to convince Matt to leave the band. I swear.
I looked at Gibbs and he looked at me back. He was saying the truth, so we didn´t have a suspect anymore. After driving Dakota back home I went home too. I was exhausted. When I arrived home Zoe hadn´t arrived yet what, relieved me, because I didn´t want to argue. I was about to go to bed when I noticed something. The pictures of Ziva had been removed. Instead of them I saw a picture of Zoe, what made me angry because she had no right to replace my pictures. I found Ziva´s pictures in the bin, I took them out and place them where they were and went to sleep.
