'What!?!' Thought Wen Ning. 'If Wei Ying had been poisoned why wouldn't he let him go find help?'

"Don't worry too much, Wen Ning, I've been through worse. I detected it pretty immediately which is why I sent A-Yuan to go eat with Lan Zhan. I sort of expected it so I came prepared and currently I am using dark energy to cleanse the toxins out. By tomorrow morning, I should be back to normal." Said Wei Ying, rather too nonchalantly for Wen Ning's liking.

Wen Ning could not argue with the older so just resigned to watching over the man for the night.

The next day at around eleven o'clock, Wei Ying finally emerged from his room. To be fair to him, even if he hadn't been poisoned, he was never one to wake up early. The father and son left to go find Jiang Yanli who had promised him a warm bowl of lotus and pork rib soup.

The woman was sat camouflaged amongst the wild flowers in a nearby pavilion when the duo stumbled across her. She wore a beautiful lavender coloured robe embellished with small precious stones and her hair was carefully braided into place. Next to her in a golden crib, her son lay quietly slumbering as she gently caressed his features.

Seeing his aunt, Wen Yuan ran up to say hello, being greeted by a warm hug. She ushered the two to their seats around the low table before signalling for them to be quiet - she had only just gotten the fussing child to sleep and she did not want all her efforts to be in vain. Quietly, Wei Ying and her chatted and enjoyed the very familiar nostalgic taste of the soup.

After the makeshift breakfast lunch combo, the group decided to take a small walk about some of the grounds. Jin Ling was drifting between various states of consciousness as he sunk into Yanli's comfortable arms disturbed only by the pleasant shouts of Wei Ying and A-Yuan play fighting ahead. A-Yuan had a little wooden sword that Wei Ying had carved for him and was practising ruthless attacks against a defenceless Wei Ying. They chased each other round and round, giggling and laughing, Wei Ying hiding behind Yanli's small frame seeking protection.

Eventually, A-Yuan began to tire somewhat and resorted to wondering around just ahead looking at the flowers. To his side, Wei Ying also noticed Yanli struggling slightly with holding her heavy baby. Yanli assured him it wasn't very far back round the circuit but Wei Ying still felt that it was too much so he offered to carry Jin Ling for her. After some protest, she agreed and carefully placed the fragile child into Wei Ying's arms, ensuring his head was fully supported and he wasn't uncomfortable.

Wei Ying felt so privileged to be allowed to hold the precious Jin heir and he knew that Jin Guangshan would never let him. The cute child snuggled into his arms and he felt butterflies in his stomach. His cute chubby arms waved around slightly and he gurgled happily. He already held an impossible amount of love for this child who he was yet to even properly meet.

He bent down to show the child to his son and A-Yuan said hi before planting a kiss on Jin Ling's forehead. The two adults awwed at the cute display. Before slowly continuing back. Finally, the group parted and Wei Ying, Wen Ning and A-Yuan busied themselves for the rest of the day.

That night, it came as no surprise to Wei Ying that they had poisoned his food again. His mystery attackers were obviously very keen to be rid of him. Again, he sent A-Yuan off to Lan Zhan to eat whilst he persisted with his own food. it appeared the had upped the dosage this time around as the symptoms began to kick in stronger and faster. His head was spinning and a burning sensation was spreading through his body as if a thousand irons were scalding and cauterising his being. Of course, externally, Wei Ying showed nothing, he could not let Yanli be upset or show weakness towards those who wanted him dead.

Sure, it was implausible that everyone in attendance had teamed up and plotted this method to kill him however he was willing to bet that no one would be sad if he did die as a result of it. Well... except maybe Yanli, and he hoped Jiang Cheng and maybe even Lan Zhan.

The night stretched on and before Wei Ying could excuse himself, A-Yuan had fallen asleep in Lan Zhan's lap. What was worse was that Wei Ying could not carry the heavy child alone in this state. Deciding it was too much hassle, he asked Lan Zhan to bring the child to which the other obediently obliged. He had been sensing majorly off vibes from Wei Ying since earlier and wanted to investigate.

They passed out of the big double doors, round a couple of corners and then Wei Ying vomited blood and passed out, his unconscious body twisting with the powerful effects of the poison.

This was not quite what Lan Zhan had expected but he found himself acting before he could back out. He practically chucked A-Yuan at Wen Ning whilst cradling and picking up Wei Ying, all the while learning the truth from the babbling Ghost General.
