Team FLME Volume 9

Vault of Destruction

After the opening, the bullhead is flying across the skies towards Vacuo. Leia and Llew are back in their pilot's seats as they approach the city. The rest of the group are in the back, reloading their guns and getting ready for combat. Ember looks up to the cockpit and then over to Violet.

Ember: When I said we should pull back, I meant all of us. Not just us.

Violet: Someone had to respond. Whether it was us or someone. We just saw it.

Ember: I'm just saying.

Violet: And they will press the attack for us. We'll be alright. So will the front.

Ember groaned a little as the ship began to enter Vacuo airspace. The doors open and Eadwulf and Ember glance down to see some of the front of Shade on fire with the bodies littering the ground. Ember and Eadwulf both have looks of disgust on their faces as the ship flies around and glances down. A few gunshots can be heard. May walks over and looks to a hallway where the shots could have come from.

May looked down her sights and glared inside. Her rifle darted around until she found Rumpole and Sienna moving down the halls, entering cover and firing back as Falkan and her team moved up after them. A few students were on the ground as well, slowly moving back. She glared a little and fired a few shots.

Leia: Well, it sounds like we found our landing zone.

Ember: Leia, so help me if you crash into the school, I'm going to be pissed.

Leia glanced down to the controls and banked the ship closer to the school.

Leia: That's a shame.

Ember: AH CRAP!!

The ship moved up towards the school, stopping just before the engines hit. Quickly, May and Ing jumped out with Violet and then Ember and Eadwulf. The bullhead flew forward and landed safely on a nearby platform. Leia and Llew quickly ran out and back towards the hall.

Leia: Told you guys I wouldn't crash it.

Llew: Your skills have only improved slightly.

Leia: Hey!

Leia and Llew ran into the school and saw Falkan, Adharc and Mustang pushed back down the hall. Especially as Violet charged forward with Eadwulf to attack them. Adharc turned around and saw Llew and Leia.

Adharc: On our six!

Falkan glanced back as Adharc fired out some rounds with his rifle. Falkan moved towards a door.

Falkan: Mustang!

Mustang: On it.

Mustang turned around and fired, blasting one of Leia's shields. He ran over to the door and bashed it open with his shoulder. Falkan moved on through as Adharc covered them. He glanced back and Falkan nodded at him. He rolled back into the room and a massive wall of hardlight blocked the door completely. Leia slammed her hand down onto it and grunted a little.

Leia: Ember, Eadwulf.

Eadwulf: Gotcha.

Sienna: No.

Ing: No?

Violet: They are-

Sienna: And Theodore is about to die! We need the relic now while he keeps Onyx at bay.

Violet: What?

Ember: That bastard is here?! Where?

May: No!

May stepped up in front of Ember.

May: Not today. Not this time.

Ember: He killed Fred! He's trying to kill us all! I can move through this entire school in a few moments. I can find him and-
