*SMUT WARNING*
When you left the other night
I didn't think I'd see you again
It was a hell of a fight
It felt like it was the end
You broke down, we broke up
And we were sayin' it was over
But here I am now
With your head on my shoulder
If tellin' each other goodbye
Is gonna lead to a long slow kiss
And if you tearin' out my drive
Is gonna get us makin' love like this
It's crazy to think that yesterday we weren't even talkin'
If this is how it's gonna be
Then baby maybe we should break up more often
You left the charger by the bed
And that jacket that you always wore
So I shot you that text
Said they're sittin' outside on the porch
But last night you showed up
I saw you standin' there at my door
Now that dress you had on is layin' on my floor
If tellin' each other goodbye
Is gonna lead to a long slow kiss
If you tearin' out my drive
Is gonna get us makin' love like this
It's crazy to think that yesterday we weren't even talkin'
If this is how it's gonna be
Then baby maybe we should break up more often
And I don't even know what the fight was even over
But look at us now, girl we've never been closer
If tellin' each other goodbye
Is gonna lead to a long slow kiss
If you tearin' out my drive
Is gonna get us makin' love like this
It's crazy to think that yesterday we weren't even talkin'
If this is how it's gonna be
Then baby maybe we should break up more often
Let's break up more oftenI couldn't help but notice the grey fleece jacket hanging on the back of the chair. I couldn't believe she left it behind. She would want that back. It's her favorite. I thought to myself.
Avery always complained she was cold. Of course I was always more than happy to warm her up. I thought with a smile.
My smile faded when I was hit with the realization that I wouldn't be able to wrap my arms around her next time she got cold, and I was hit with a wave of sadness.
I fucked up.
Well, the least I could do was give her back her jacket. She also left her phone charger by the bed. She would probably need that as well.
Knowing she probably didn't want to talk to me, I shot off a quick text letting her know I would be leaving these items on the front porch and she could pick them up whenever or not. It was up to her.
I couldn't believe it was over. I don't even remember what the fight was even about. Not really anyway.
I had a bad night and I was a bit short tempered. I probably said something to set her off. Hell if I know. Avery was a bit hot tempered too, and it really didn't take much to set her off. She usually calmed down pretty quick.
Not this time though.
I don't remember what I said. I don't remember what she said. All I remember was her saying we were done and me agreeing. Then she slammed the door and ran out to her car and peeled out of my driveway, leaving nothing but dust and the lingering scent of her perfume behind.
This was not our first fight, only one of several. Avery and I are both passionate people, maybe a little too passionate. Her temper was just as hot as the rest of her.
That passion was probably what drew us to each other in the first place. Yes, we had argued before, but we had always cooled down and made up. We had never ended it before.
I sat down and started reminiscing about things.
I remembered the night we met. A blind date of all things, set up by my sister of all people.
