" shit! shit !! shit!!!"
"Is anything the matter ma'am?" My driver asks.
"Just keep driving, Moses". I have zero Patience right now.
"Ok,ma'am". He says, apologetically
I'm on my way to the hospital it's been a month now since I came here and I haven't met Miles even once. I must give him credit though for his persistence he's been calling every single day but I always ignore them.
He's come home to my place but I've refused to see him, didn't let the door man allow him into the building.
I'm trying to pretend he doesn't exist.
I check my phone as it dings indicating a text no doubt from him and, oh boy! was I right
Miles: I'm coming over to your hospital if you refuse to see me I'll wait for you at home,Vanessa.
I don't even try to stop the string of curses that flows through my mouth as I reply his text for the first time ever.
...Me: 'Don't you dare come to my office! Hoping on God I succeeded in texting my annoyance to him and steer clear of me message, I switch my phone off.
I can't block the damn old man's number my dad will surely have my neck for it. But I can sure forestall our meeting for a while.
I wonder how much more I can ignore him now.
He'll be sure to get hell from me if I do see him today.
Luckily, for Mr Williams Miles doesn't show up at the office and the doorman confirmed there's no one with the name Mr Williams looking for me at the apartment.
I see he heeded to my warning.
Four hours later.... I trudge to the lobby of my apartment, tired from the day's work and, I realize annoyingly now on a knife's edge.
Worrying if Mr Williams was going to barge into my office and demand I marry him immediately, Which is what I've been dreading for months since I came here and it's been taking it's toll on me.
Mr John the door man calls out his greeting, as always.
"Miss Clarke!"
" Hi John!" I reply, without any enthusiasm.
" Bad day at work, huh?" John presses
" You can say that again". Mustering a kind smile to the kind old man_I could barely concentrate.
John the 30 year old man is and always will be one of the people whom I care about in this city, he volunteered to show me around my apartment when I arrived. His wife Benita is a darling. She makes the best cookies in the world. And OMG! Their kids Daniel and Daniella are the best twins ever in the world. The twins make me wish i had gotten married sooner. It's not too late yet. Right?!
