Miles

One month later....

" Baby, I've gotta go. Wake up."

Vanessa groans, "I want to sleep, let me sleep."

I chuckle, "No good bye kiss then?" I tease.

She whines, "Just go.."

I can't stop myself from laughing. "Come on, babe. You know I can't start my day without a kiss from you. You're lucky I didn't ask for sex. So get your ass up and give your husband a kiss" I press on.

She growls like a little kitten before finally blinking her eyes open as she turns around to kiss me.
"Was that a kiss? I ask, shocked.

She smiles, her eyes still closed. And I take it as an opening to kiss her fully on the lips before squeezing her boob, laughing as she smacks my hand, glaring at me.

" Finally, you opened those beautiful eyes for me " I mock, grinning.

She rolls her eyes as she blows me a kiss. "Off you go, hubby ".

" I want noodles for lunch!" , I call out from the door.

She nods her head, as she goes back to sleep.

I get to the office 20 minutes later.. " Charlotte, are the investors here yet?"

" Yes, Sir. They are in the board room".

"OK, let's go then".

Charlotte is a old newly married woman, and since that day with Venny in my office, she's been avoiding my eyes. I'm very sure she heard everything we did. Not that I care, Vanessa is my wife, they should all mind their business

She forgave me after the episode in the office and we both agreed to put it behind us.

I head to the boardroom and after we all exchange pleasantries we begin the day's work. Which takes my mind off everything.

"Mr Miles, Your wife is here". Penelope, My assistant says. She just got back to work after taking a maternity leave.

"Let her in, then. Excuse me ladies and gentlemen. I have to attend to the Queen, hope you all don't mind." I say, lightly.

They all smile, "it's no issue". Mr Shen Yi, one of the investors says.

Venny, knocks on the door lightly, and comes inside escorted by Smith my head security officer.

She seems surprised as her eyes scan the room. She walks over to me, after she nods at them in greeting.
" Why didn't you tell me you were in a meeting ". She whispers, clearly displeased.

" What? They all understand that you're my wife, my priority. " I say, noncommittally as I press a kiss to her lips. She melts in my arms after this. Which earns a smile from me.

" OK, Mr Miles. I'll be waiting for you in your office. I've got a surprise for you ". she says into my ear

"Ohh then, that's cool. I can't wait. I grin. I'll see you in 30, ok?" I whisper, into her ear.

She giggles, "OK! "

She walks out after placing another kiss on my mouth.

Huang Shenghoa, another investor says with a smile. " You have a beautiful wife, Mr Williams "

I puff with pride, " I know".

30 minutes later.. I walk to the office removing my tie in the process. I hate this things.

" Angel!.."

I call out as I walk into the office and she's not there. Thinking she's in the bathroom I wait for another minute before checking but she's not there.
