Gilbert was playing hockey with a bunch of his friends, they went on a short break and Gilbert saw Anne arrive next to the rest of the girls. Her hair was down, and Gilbert was definitely staring. "You and Anne, huh?" Moody questioned playfully nudging him.

"Oh? Um no, not yet,"

"You should get over there before Charlie does," Moody told him, pointing in the direction of the other tall boy staring in Anne's direction, Gilbert started to skate forward, over to the girls.

"Gilbert!" Josie, Jane and Tillie exclaimed, as Ruby's face went bright red.

"Girls, Anne, you should wear your hair down more often. Ruby, are you okay?"

"Y-yes, I-I'm fine," Ruby stuttered.

"She's very preoccupied!" Tillie laughed.

"With a certain someone,"

GIlbert sent Anne a wink before skating back onto the ice.

"He winked at me!" Ruby exclaimed. Diana nudged Anne.

"What was that all about?" Diana whispered.

"I have no idea," Anne replied.

----

"Good Afternoon, Marilla," Gilbert greeted as he walked in the house, "is Anne home yet?"

"Good Afternoon, Gilbert, and no, she is not," Marilla replied as she continued making scones.

"Marilla!" Anne exclaimed running in the door, when she saw Gilbert, she stopped. "Gilbert?"

"Your hair ribbon must've slipped out of your pocket," Gilbert said, handing her the silk blue ribbon.

"T-thank you, Gilbert," Anne stuttered out of surprise. Gilbert glanced at her two decorated braids. "I like your braids, is that how you'll be wearing your hair, now?"

"Probably," Anne responded.

"Good afternoon...carrots," he said as he walked out of the house. Anne ran out after him.

"Be happy I don't have my slate. And good afternoon, good doctor,"

"Okay, I deserved that, see you at school,"

"See you at school!"

"What was that about?" Marilla asked her.

"I have no idea," Anne responded, and then continued on to tell Marilla about her encounters of the day.

----

"What's going on?" Anne asked Diana and Ruby, as she arrived at the school and saw all the girls talking.

"Something about the take notice board," Diana mumbled.

"He's looking over here! He's looking over here!!!" Ruby exclaimed, "Anne, you guys are friends, can you get him to post?" Ruby asked here.

"Okay, okay, I'll talk to him for you," Anne told her, going over to the hazel eyed boy.

"Good morning," Anne greeted.

"Good morning, I see you went back to your other style,"

"More practical is what Marilla said when I tried to leave the house," Anne giggled, "anyways, I'm not sure if you noticed, but the old take notice board is active again,"

"Take notice?" Gilbert questioned.

"Yes, of someone. As in you post on the board when you want someone to know that you've taken notice. It's a way to make a casual declaration. A quiet attention-"
