"It finally happened!" Anne exclaimed, poking her head out of the window, "I'm sixteen!" she exclaimed.

"Anne!" Marilla shouted from downstairs.

---

Anne and the girls were giggling in Diana's parlor. "So Anne, is there anyone you have your sights on?" Josie questioned.

"I know there is one boy," Diana commented, "do tell us,"

"I have decided only to be the bride of adventure," Anne replied as Gilbert walked in.

"Is that so? What a shame," he commented, causing Anne to blush. Ruby didn't notice, but everyone else most certainly did. "Gilbert!" The girls exclaimed.

"What are you doing here?" Anne questioned.

"Alright, ladies, I come with a peace offering," Gilbert told them all, "Now come outside and check it out,"

The girls rushed to the door as Anne stayed behind for a second. "What are you up to?" Anne questioned the boy.

"You'll see," Gilbert smirked, before kissing her cheek, "happy birthday, my Anne with an e,"

"Thank you," Anne blushed.

"Shall we?" Gilbert questioned, holding out his arm.

"We shall," Anne replied, taking his arm and leaning into his shoulder.
---

Anne walked outside to see Cole and some of the others from school, including Prissy. "Cole!" Anne exclaimed, running over to him as he picked her up and spun her around. "Anne!" Cole exclaimed as he put her down.

"I missed you so much!" Anne exclaimed.

"We have so much to catch up on!" Cole exclaimed.

Then Anne noticed the whole party set up. "You guys double surprised me?" Anne gasped, Gilbert nodded.

"Happy birthday, carrots,"

Anne ran over to him and kissed his cheek, something Josie 'took notice' of. "Thank you!" Anne exclaimed

---

Gilbert walked Anne home from the Barrys'. "You are the best secret Beau ever!" She exclaimed to Gilbert. Gilbert smiled, "Secret except from Bash,"

"And probably Mary," Anne added.

"I have something for you," Gilbert told her, handing her a present, "I saw them in Charlotte town, and I knew it was perfect for you,"

"You didn't have to," Anne told him.

"Fiddlesticks,"

"Shall I open it now or at home?"

"It might be easier to open it at home," Gilbert replied as they approached Green Gables.
"Would you like to come in?" Anne asked Gilbert.

"I would love to," Gilbert replied.

---

"How was Diana's?"  Marilla questioned as Anne walked in, "Gilbert, what brings you here?"

"I would like to talk to you and Matthew, if I may," Gilbert replied.

"You what?" Anne questioned.

"Of course, Matthew should be in any minute now, Anne, why don't you put the kettle on?" Anne went over to the stovetop, with Gilbert following her.

"What are you up to?" Anne questioned/ whispered.

"I think you know. I can't court you, secret or not without Matthew and Marilla's permission," Gilbert told her, "we don't have to tell anyone else,"
