November 5th, Riverdale High
Veronica's POV"So, how are you and Betty doing?" Cheryl asked. I smiled and shrugged.
"We're doing fine. I mean, everything is okay. Everything seems so perfect. We're texting all the time. We call and fall asleep on the phone together. And she makes me really happy." I told her. She smiled.
"That's great. I see you're wearing a different hoodie today." She mentioned.
"Yeah, we traded hoodies again,"
"Don't you go back and forth between two of your hoodies?" I nodded. "Why don't you get one of hers?"
"I don't know but I don't really care because when we trade it smells like her and that makes me really happy,"
"That's adorable,"
"So how are you and Toni?" I asked.
"We, uh, had an argument last night but you know we'll end up talking about it soon anyway," she said.
"I'm sorry. I know how much those arguments hurt you." I said.
"She's probably getting advice from Betty right now."
"They are best friends," I said.
"Would it be bad to say I get jealous of her? Betty I mean. I know she's with you but sometimes I just can't help but be jealous of her."
"Oh, no I sometimes feel the same way about Toni. They're really close. And sometimes they seem a bit too close but I know Toni isn't Betty's time. Or that's what she tells me."
"You've really fallen for her haven't you?"
"How can you tell?"
"Because every time you even think about her your face lights up and you get really happy."
"I do?"
"Yeah, but that's a good thing. It makes me happy to finally see my best friend happy. Like, actually happy. You better not break up with her." She said.
"I would never. Although, she's constantly saying I'll end up leaving her eventually. I have to tell her that I didn't wait four years just to hurt myself." She nodded and the bell rang.
"I have to get the class. We'll talk later?" I nodded and went to class.
As I was waiting for class to start my phone buzzed. It was Betty.
Betty
B: Hey, can you go to the football game tonight?
V: Yeah, I can. Are you going?
B: Yeah, you wanna go?
V: Sure, yeah.
B: Okay, do you need me to pay for you?
V: No, it's okay. I pay for myself

After school, I did some homework and got really impatient. The game doesn't start until seven and it's only four. What am I supposed to do until seven? I'm only impatient because I really want to see her.
At around 6:45 I started making my way back to the school for the football game. As I was standing in line waiting I got a text from her.
Betty
B: I'm standing up front waiting for you
V: Okay, I'm almost through the line.
When I got through the line was standing right there, with a blanket, waiting. I smiled and walked over to her. She grabbed my hand and we started walking to the bleachers. We got to the spot and Jughead was sitting there with Archie. We sat down and she put the blanket on us and wrapped her arm around me. I laid my head on her shoulder and just got comfortable.
Honestly, nobody comes for the game anymore. It's all just to hang out with friends or fight or making out in the bathrooms or whatever. The games aren't interesting anymore. After about ten minutes I started shaking from being cold.
"Are you cold?" She asked me.
"Yes, I am."
"Oh, my God! It's not even that cold!" I looked at her.
"It is 55 degrees,"
"That's not cold,"
"Are you crazy? That's freezing! Plus, it's also windy!" I said. She sighed and pulled me closer to her. "I'm starting to go numb," I told her.
"It's not cold," she said.
"You're crazy,"
After the game, I went home and got ready for bed. And tried to warm myself up. It was about ten-thirty when she texted me.
Betty
B: Wanna call?
V: Yeah
I waited about a minute before she called me. I answered and lay in bed.
"Heyyy!"
"Hey,"
"That wasn't very enthusiastic,"
"I'm sorry. I'm just kind of tired... and cold."
"Oh, my God. It really wasn't that cold,"
We proceeded to go back and forth about it being cold or not for like half an hour. By midnight I was falling asleep and I couldn't stop it. She was trying to get me to stay up and talk to her but I eventually just fell asleep.
November 12th
We went to another football game today and this time we both brought a blanket. I'm currently waiting for her to get here because she was running a little late. I was sitting with Jughead who was also waiting. We waited for about ten minutes before she got here and then we went to our normal spot. We covered up in the blankets and she put her arm around me and pulled me closer to her and grabbed my hand with her free hand. I smiled and leaned against her.
She makes me feel safe in her arms wrapped around me. I feel safe, cared for, and secure. It's a feeling I never want to lose. It's something I always want to feel. And she gives it to me.
"Hey, you wanna come over this weekend?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I'll just have to ask my parents and I tell you," I nodded and just went back to being quiet and using her for warmth.
Later that night she called me again as we always do.
"Hey, my parents said I can stay over this weekend."
"Okay, mine are fine with it too."
"Okay, good."
