On December 19th, I was nominated for eight Grammies! Eminem and I led the pack with eight a piece. I was ecstatic!! I got nominated for Short Form Video, Song Written for a Motion Picture, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Collaboration with Carrie, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Album of the Year. I couldn't believe I had gotten nominated for so many Grammies.

January 10th... we found out that we had gotten nominated for several Oscars for Not Like The Movies. They were almost identical to the nominations we had gotten for the Globes. The one that shocked me the most was that Circle The Drain and Not Like The Movies both got nominated for Best Original Song. Everyone that had gotten nominated at the Globes got nominated for an Oscar except both Joe and Alex got Supporting nods.

January 23, 2011...

I had Zac Posen make me a dress for the Golden Globes. It was a pastel blue one-shouldered, empire-waisted full-length gown with embroidered pastel blue flowers on the shoulder line. I loved it and since he made it specially for me, it fit my growing baby bump wonderfully. Joe and I walked the red carpet together and did the usual photo ops and carpet interviews.

Joe lost the Supporting Actor globe to Christian Bale for his performance in The Fighter. We were happy for him because he was wonderful in that movie. Meryl lost to Melissa Leo for The Fighter. One of the things I was nominated was now up.

"Here are the nominees for Best Original Song..."Bound To You" – Burlesque... "Coming Home" – Country Strong... "I See The Light" - Tangled... "Not Like The Movies" - Not Like The Movies... "There's A Place For Us" - The Chronicles of Narnia Voyage of the Dawn Treader... And the Globe goes to... Not Like The Movies, music and lyrics by Kat Ball-Bader, from Not Like The Movies."

Everyone around me began cheering. Joe kissed me and helped me to my feet. Getting on stage, I took the Globe in my hand and looked at it.

"Wow. Thank you so much to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. I remember last year before the show Ryan Seacrest asked me if I saw myself winning this specific award. All I said to him was 'you never know," I said to laughs. "It's a year later and my life in general has improved 110 percent. I would like to thank my dear uncle, Alan Ball, for convincing me to be a part of this project and writing this song. The whole experience of Not Like The Movies was a huge learning experience for me and I truly believe it has made me a better person, actress and musician. Thank you to my parents, my extended family and my amazing husband, Joe. I love you all. Thank you."

Alan lost Screenplay to Chris Nolan for Inception which was really cool. Alan then turned around and won the Best Director Globe. We were all so happy for him. It was now time for the big awards.

"Here are the nominees for Best Actor in a Drama. Colin Firth for The King's Speech, James Franco for 127 Hours, Ryan Gosling for Blue Valentine, Cillian Murphy for Not Like The Movies and Mark Wahlberg for The Fighter... And the Globe goes to... Cillian Murphy for Not Like The Movies."

Everyone expected Mark Wahlberg to win so we were all so shocked and excited when they called his name! He hugged and kissed me before going on stage.

"Holy crap," he said, looking at the Globe shocked. "Hollywood Foreign Press, thank you so very much," he said to cheers. "I have to thank the amazing Alan Ball for letting me be a part of this amazing project.... To the amazingly beautiful and talented Kat Ball-Bader," he said to cheers. "You were an absolutely gem to work with every day. You were such a joy to be around and I am a better person and actor because of working with you. You will always have a special place in my heart. Yvette, I love you sweetheart. Boys, daddy loves you. Thank you all so much!"

A few minutes later...

"Here are the nominees for Best Actress in a Drama. Kat Ball-Bader for Not Like The Movies, Nicole Kidman for Rabbit Hole, Jennifer Lawrence for Winter's Bone, Natalie Portman for Black Swan and Michelle Williams for Blue Valentine... the Globe goes to... Kat Ball-Bader for Not Like The Movies."
