010—Sighs, Hiccups

Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji stared at the two Jiang Sect disciples carrying the half-conscious, obviously drunk [First Name]. Both were rendered speechless. "Hic."

The older brother couldn't help but let out a hopeless sigh while shaking his head, "... How did she... No, never mind... [First Name] must've said that she was curious... I apologize for troubling the two young masters by bringing her back." Jiang Cheng also looked at her, who leaned her head on his shoulder. She had a dazed expression as she blankly stared at the air. He felt guilty, "It was me who invited her to drink, I hope that you won't-" But before he could even finish what he was saying, his shoulder suddenly felt lighter and the drunk disciple spoke up.

"Xichen-xiong, it was me, me, me!"

Lan Xichen who previously felt distressed softened his expression and smiled at her, "Hm? It was you who what?" [First Name] paused for a second, glancing at the two beside her before she continued. "It was this disciple who invited them to drink, it was also this disciple that brought me here! Don't," she hiccuped. "Don't get angry at these two, please?"

The three kept quiet for a moment while exchanging glances with each other. Lan Xichen then lightly chuckled and smiled gently. "Alright, it was you. The young masters won't get in trouble and neither would you since technically, no rules were broken. Alright? Young Master Jiang, Young Master Wei, thank you for bringing her back, as well as accompanying her." he told the two with a calm and mild tone. While Lan Wangji, who had been standing right beside Lan Xichen, only stared at Wei Wuxian. It seems like he already knows who the initiator is.

And the initiator laughed and said cheerfully, "Hanging out with [First Name] is fun so there's no need for thanks!"

[First Name] moved forward towards the two Lan brothers, but with her being light-headed and half-conscious only, she tripped on her own feet and almost fell. Jiang Cheng instinctively stretched out his hand to catch her but Lan Wangji, who was the closest held her firmly first. Jiang Cheng paused. Then, he slowly pulled his hand back and cleared his throat immediately. "... We sincerely apologize for this."

Right after hearing his voice and vaguely understanding his words, [First Name] struggled in Lan Wangji's hold a bit before she could finally turn and face the young master of Jiang Sect. "Jiang Cheng...?" her eyes which seemed to be covered with mist were fixated on the boy's face as she continued. "Why are you apologizing? Did you get in trouble?" she glanced at the older Lan and whined, "Xichen-xiongggg!" Jiang Cheng shook his head and replied calmly, [First Name]'s attention went back to him. "I'm not in trouble or something. But I should've stopped both of you right from the start, you wouldn't have ended up as a mess."

She lazily tilted her head, confusion in her expression. "But I had fun?"

Jiang Cheng seemed to be at a loss. He knew very well that it's impossible to explain something to a drunk person so, in the end, he didn't say anything else. Finally, Lan Xichen spoke up with a smile. "Young Master Jiang, since [First Name] herself said that it's fine, then shouldn't we just accept it?" he then glanced at his younger brother,  "Wangji, you should bring her back first."

"Mn."

"You heard him, Jiang Cheng. Let's go back." Wei Wuxian lightly bumped his elbow into Jiang Cheng, and so the boy took a second glance at Lan Xichen, who merely gave a small nod before following right behind the other two who had already gone ahead. He sighed and finally replied, "... Alright."

Who knows how many times he had heaved a sigh tonight only.

A short chapter since I feel like I've been writing a lot of words in the previous chapters
