025—Danger Beneath I

[First Name] narrowed her eyes as she spoke with disappointment, "I had already told them, I am enough. Why would you grab Lady Luo? Shixiong, you..."

Although this was a matter regarding the sect's discipline and morals, right now was really not the perfect time to discuss this.

Wen Chao saw all of this unfold and was enraged, "How dare you! Kill them!"

After all, Su She's act of following Wen Chao's orders was forcibly halted. Wasn't this a sign of disobedience? He really was fuming with anger as he pointed his shaking hands at the crowd of disciples, each coming from different sects.

With this order, a few Wen sect disciples unsheathed their blades.

Seeing this situation, [First Name] muttered in a voice as quiet as a feather falling, "To think that I would have to unsheathe you twice in the same week, hah..."

But her cousin's hearing was not that bad. He turned his head to look at her, confused, bewildered, and unwilling to let her go in with her current plan. He can more or less guess what's inside that little brain of hers. Lan Wangji's brows were creasing further with each second that passed. Even his attention was divided but still, his eyes remained on [First Name] who remained still and focused. He then lightly whispered her name, in an attempt to try throwing off her reckless plan.

"[First Name]."

He raised his hand slightly and held the corners of her sleeves.

With this subtle action, [First Name] really couldn't help but laugh lightly in the middle of this kind of situation. "Yes, I know what you want to say." She moved her gaze from her cousin to the little tyrant Wen, and continued speaking. "But look at this, do you really think I have any other choice?"

The few Wen sect disciples now surrounded the four of them. With no weapons, lacking in numbers, and Lan Wangji is also heavily injured even. No matter how Wen Chao looked at this situation, he could only see his superiority over these disciples. He spat, "Talking back to me, what did you think you are? People like you really do deserve to be killed." [First Name] raised her head and looked at Wen Chao with an indifferent gaze. This unbridled arrogant man is frankly irredeemable. There's no hope for him, with that attitude, which only fuels the flames of rage within [First Name].

Just as she was about to speak out, an equally unrestrainable young man spoke up first with such smug, saying, "That's right. All those who oppress others and do evil relying on the power of their clan should be killed. Not only that, they should be beheaded for tens of thousands to revile so that those to come would beware."

To everyone, this young man who actually talked back to the young master of Wen was both courageous and reckless. Clearly, this is not the time to speak like that...

Wen Chao, outraged, "What?"

Wei Wuxian expressed a face of surprise as he responded, "Do you need me to repeat it? Sure." With a playfully smug smirk on his lips, he repeated his previous words. "All those who oppress others and do evil relying on the power of their clan should be killed. Not only that, they should be beheaded for tens of thousands to revile so that those to come would beware. You heard it this time?" His eyes looked as if they were provoking Wen Chao, and the other man took it as so.

Meanwhile, [First Name], hearing those words, pondered for a while after finding Wei Wuxian's words familiar. 'The Quintessence of the Wen Sect?' Realizing so, her lips couldn't help but twitch, wanting to laugh a bit.

After realizing how offensive and how those words were directed at him, Wen Chao burst with anger, "How dare you say such absurd, outrageous, and pretentious words!"

Hearing this, Wei Wuxian couldn't help but burst into laughter, "Absurd? Outrageous? I'd say you're the one who's all of those! Wen Chao, do you know who was the one that said those words? I'm sure you don't, do you? Let me tell you. This was said by the most, most, most famous cultivator of your sect, the one who founded the entire thing, Wen Mao. You dared say that one of your ancestor's remarks is absurd and outrageous? Well said, very well said!"

[First Name] shifted her gaze back and forth, from Wei Wuxian to Wen Chao, and the difference in their expressions was truly laughable. And Wei Wuxian's following words only added fuel to the fire.

"Right, what was the accusation given to those who insult famous cultivators of the Wen Sect again? How should they be punished? I remember that it was execution, right? Yes, very well, you can go die now."

Perhaps, that was the last straw for Wen Chao, snapping as he lunged forward toward Wei Wuxian with nothing in his mind but anger. Wen Zhuliu, astonished by the fact that Wen Chao himself left the space where Wen Zhuliu could protect him, couldn't react on time when Wei Wuxian easily snatched the sword from Wen Chao and turned the tides against the arrogant young master in just a few seconds. Placing Wen Chao's own sword against his neck, Wei Wuxian warned after jumping on top of one of the islets above the body of water with Wen Chao, "Nobody move. If you're not careful, I might just decide to let some blood out of your Young Master Wen!"

It was all part of his plan, it seems...

Panicked and in fear for his own life, Wen Chao exclaimed his authority over his sect's disciples, "Stop moving! Stop moving!"

Now, the disciples of Wen Sect hesitated to continue the threats and attacks against both Lan Wangji and Jin Zixuan who still protected [First Name] and Luo Qingyang.

In addition, Wei Wuxian quickly glanced toward Wen Zhuliu, the strongest person in the room currently, and added, "Core-melting Hand, you're not moving either! You know how the temper of the Wen Sect's leader is. Your master is in my hand. If he loses just one drop of blood, then not one of the people here should hope to live on, including you!"

Inside the cave suddenly went silent under these threats made by Wei Wuxian. But one didn't just stay still.

There was a white flash that traveled at the speed of light and in an instant, one sect disciple of the Wen Sect had been pierced through his shoulder and he fell down to the ground.

Even Wei Wuxian was alarmed, expecting it to be a Wen disciple's doing, but when he traced back where that flash came from, he also saw Lan Wangji looking at the same person with astonishment.

With a 'slightly' angered and 'slightly' unbothered expression on her face, [First Name] spoke up. "Wuxian, I'm allowed to move, right?" she said, a bit jokingly before she turned her gaze to her cousin. "This guy, who had attacked me from behind causing me to be bedridden for days, I have a reason to strike him down, Wangji-xiong." Even so, Lan Wangji's eyes were wide open, speechless, staring at [First Name].

She knew that she'd be getting an earful later on, but she first retrieved her clear sword back to her side as she turned and looked at Wei Wuxian, wanting to say something first. But then, she noticed that something was off.

What Wei Wuxian was standing on didn't seem like just an ordinary islet. It moved. "... Huh?" she whispered with a hint of confusion in her voice. And then, as if her instinct told her something, she immediately exclaimed in alarm, "Wuxian, jump off that thing right now!"

The 'islet' that Wei Wuxian was standing on suddenly trembled, simulating an earthquake which Wei Wuxian thought to be so, "Is it an earthquake?"

And Jiang Cheng exclaimed, startled as well, "No! It's not an earthquake—what's moving is the thing under your feet!"

Why the 'islet' was moving was because this 'islet' was rising. Rising and rising... Until this 'islet' finally revealed itself to be a beast, looking both like a snake and a turtle. And it now stared at the two humans above its shell.

"... What a large... tortoise..." Wei Wuxian couldn't help but comment.
