𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆-𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲

023—Jealousy, II

Both Lan Wangji and [First Name] were following right behind the others. They were not having a conversation or anything, they were simply walking behind because of Lan Wangji's injury. He was having difficulty keeping up the pace with the others so, in the end, they were left behind.

But even so, despite not standing out at all, [First Name] could still feel a pair of hatred-filled eyes on her. Sighing weakly, her eyes wandered around looking for the person glaring at her with so much intensity for a while now. Obviously, there's only one person doing that.

[First Name] looked at Wang Lingjao blankly before raising the corner of her lips and closing her eyes, smiling amiably at the glaring woman. Though, looking at her expression, it seems that smiling only made Wang Lingjao's hatred towards her worse. So [First Name] couldn't help but laugh silently.

'Well... What a jealous woman.'

And yet again, Wang Lingjao caught the laugh that wasn't even obvious or loud and instantly took it as mockery, her expression worsened as she stomped her way towards [First Name]. "You bitch...!" Despite that, there were still signs of patience and an amicable smile on her lips as [First Name] faced her.

She honestly didn't want to hear this lady's words so she spoke up first about the real reason why everyone is here in the first place. "Young Lady Wang, while wandering around earlier, I had accidentally stumbled upon the entrance to the cave Young Master Wen told us to search for." Wang Lingjao's brightly colored lips twitched and she tensed up for a moment after hearing [First Name]'s words. She then raised her head with so much arrogance and exclaimed, "Seducing Young Master Wen and Young Master Jiang at the same time, but forgetting to inform us about this, you are so shameless!"

Despite the insults though, [First Name]'s smile faltered a little but she still remained calm nevertheless. She lowered her head a bit as if she was thinking. "I..." After a short pause, [First Name] chuckled lightly and continued, "Maybe I am."

Seeing the unfazed reaction from the woman she had just intentionally insulted, Wang Lingjao was fuming with anger as she grabbed the branding iron from the nearby servant, clenching her teeth as she 'threatened', "You and your ugly face, I'll burn yo–!"

Before she could finish her threat, however, [First Name] raised her hand all while ignoring Wang Lingjao and staring at the man behind her instead. His stern and fear-worthy face that showed no emotions turned to look at [First Name] as she spoke up. "Wen-zongshi, the entrance is hidden beneath an old banyan tree. The hole is rather small so it might not be that noticeable. It's in that direction." She pointed with her open palms, smiling with a slight hint of slyness. 

Wen Zhuliu narrowed his eyes on her, suspicious but he ignored the gut feeling he had and turned away. He'd rather not get involved with these women. "Very well." 

[First Name] continued smiling as Wen Zhuliu went away, Wang Lingjao was angered and Lan Wangji who, standing beside [First Name] the whole time, watched all of this unfold in silence, was speechless, like always. 

[First Name] finally moved her attention back to Wang Lingjao while still smiling pleasantly. "Young Lady Wang, I would not dare to seduce Young Master Wen. Please ease your worries."

'... I did flirt with Wanyin back then though. Hehe.'

Her smile visibly turned wider as she thought of that. 

Wang Lingjao gritted her teeth, forcing herself to hold back her anger. She threw the branding iron to the ground and then pointed her finger at [First Name]. "... Do that one more time and I'll really burn your ugly face! Until it's completely deformed and unrecognizable!" [First Name] continued to wear her smile as she squinted her eyes, "I'll be more careful now."
