The rain outside didn't help the pit you felt in your stomach after the earthquake that just came through. You curled up against the bay window of your apartment, holding a framed picture of you and Druig. It was the only picture he had ever agreed to take with you, and it fell off the wall, causing the frame to split straight between you two.

After being an Avenger for ten years, things like that tend to make you uneasy. There's been lots of foreshadowing in your life, and you always ignored it until it was too late. You've lost a lot of friends because of it.

This time, your mind raced with possible outcomes due to the crack between you and Druig. He could be breaking up with you, though you've only been together for a few months. He could be dying right now, and there would be nothing you could do.

You connected your mind to Druig's all the way in the Amazon. He agreed to have a long distance relationship until you've been together for about a year or two. You loved New York too much, and he loved the Amazon too much. Neither of you wanted to leave your home for something that you can't promise would last forever.

Druig, I'm scared. Please come over.

You could feel his response trying to come through. He seemed to be struggling, worrying you more. You could get in any Avenger's mind, hell, you and Wanda are so close because of your similar abilities, but you needed Druig.

You went inside his head again. Please, Druig. You buried your head in your knees. A loud clap of thunder caused you to yelp and sit back up.

The loud bang on the front door, sent your mind into a frenzy. Though you have the ability to tell them to go away through their head, you got up to see who it was. You set the picture down and looked through the peephole.

A sigh of relief fell past your lips when you saw your boyfriend's face. He was smiling up at the peephole with his hands held behind his back. You were quick to open the door and pull him in.

He immediately pulled you in for a hug. You smiled, a few tears falling down your cheeks. He was here. And quick at that. You pulled away to look into his eyes. They were normally this gorgeous blue that you could look at for an eternity, but due to the dim lighting from the two candles in the room, they looked darker.

As if the electricity could read your mind, it flickered back on, and you could admire his eyes. You leaned in to kiss him, but was interrupted by someone zipping past you into the apartment. You looked around and gasped when you saw a woman holding the picture of you and Druig.

"Hey, please don't touch that." You rushed over to her and carefully pryed it out of her hands.

She started moving her hands rapidly, and you didn't realize what she was doing for a second there. You shook your head and focused on what she was signing to you.

"I'm sorry, we just didn't believe Druig actually had a girlfriend," she signed. "He's not really the settle down type. More of an eternal flirt."

"Oh." You raised your eyebrows and looked at Druig.

Another man had made his way into the apartment, followed by five more people. Soon enough, your studio apartment was crowded. They all did their own thing with different things in there.

You pulled Druig into the bathroom and closed the door. "Who are all these people?" You asked.

"Those, darling, are the Eternals," he said.

"I thought there was ten of you." You tilted your head, remembering that you only saw eight.

"We lost Ajak and Gilgamesh." He frowned, looking down. "That's why Thena is so distraught."
