The Truth About Forever {Chapter Five}

My mind stopped functioning for a while before I started to comprehend the words that my father had just said. He… wants me to date Michael?

“Charissa?”

My head snaps up, the voice of my mother bringing me back to reality. I noticed everyone’s eyes focused on me, as I squirmed in my seat, “Yeah, what?”

“You understand what I mean right?”  My father questions me.

“Dad, I can’t.”

I hear a soft gasp escape my father’s lips, eyes widening in shock. I didn’t blame him for this reaction though, throughout my entire life, I had never once said no or disapproved of my parent’s commands.

“What do you mean… you can’t?”

“I can’t date Michael, Dad.”

“And why is that?” My father practically hisses at me in frustration, not even trying to mask his anger towards me.

“Because…”

“Because?”

“I um, I can’t, because I…”

Before I finished my sentence, my mother speaks up and says, “Michael, darling, what do you think of this rearrangement?”

Oh thank god they had turned their attention to him, now he can be the one rejecting me. That was easier than I had expected.

“I have no problem with it,” Michael finally says after a couple seconds of thinking.

What. The. Fuck.

Did he just say what I think he did? Why would he do that? Besides he knew I was dating Seth, how could he do that to his best friend? And what on earth makes him think I would even say yes if he asked me out in first place? This guy was unbelievable.

“See, Charissa? Now stop being such a pain and just agree to this. You have got to stop being so selfish and put yourself in someone else’s shoes,” my dad insists.

I felt myself stiffen. Selfish? Me? If one person had to be selfish, it would definitely not have been me. It would be you, Dad.

“Michael, may I please have a word with you?” I snap at him through gritted teeth.

“Sure,” he shrugs, and then gets up from his seat as I do the same.

We walk over to the balcony of my house, where we could just hear the soft music playing in the background. Michael takes a sip of his beverage just before I stomp on his foot. Hard.

Instead of the reaction I expected from him – which was jumping around on his other foot and yelling in pain – all he does is look at his shoe then at me, then back at his shoe, then at me again. He gives a slight frown, “What was that for?”

“You asshole! You know I’m with Seth. You just find this entertaining for yourself don’t you? And I was just thinking that you’re a decent guy,” I scoff.

“Whoa, slow down. Of course I know you’re dating Seth. Are you retarded Charissa?”

Am I retarded? Did he actually just ask me that? Of course I wasn’t fucking retarded. That was beyond offensive. If he had to claim someone to be retarded it would be himself for agreeing to this in the first place.

“Then why the hell did you agree to this?”

“Don’t worry,” he rolls his eyes, “It’s just for an act to make our parents happy, right? You won’t want them bugging you about this for eternity, trust me.”

“So… what? We’re just going fake date or something now?”

“Exactly,” Michael says.

“You should really get your brain checked up.”

“Look, Charissa, I’m doing you a favour that would benefit the both of us. Come on, quit being such a snob and agree to this.”

“No! This is wrong, fake dating or real dating, I won’t do this to Seth.”

“I highly doubt Seth would even care,” he retorts.

I think about the idea for a while. Seth had cheated on me with Trisha and didn’t even bother to tell me. Now my parents wants me to be dating Michael, who is my boyfriend’s- who my parents has no idea exists- best friend. I couldn’t and shouldn’t be doing this.

It would get my parents off my back though.

“I don’t know, Michael, I have to think about it…”

“Think about your parents business as well. They might not agree to be partners if you don’t agree to this…”

“Why do you want us to do this so badly?”

“Because I want my parent’s to get off my back about getting a decent girlfriend and other bullshit like that. They annoy me, that’s all. Of course, I’m also being nice. You can easily say no.”

I heave out a sigh, “Fine. But this stays between us only.”

“What makes you think I would want anyone else to know about it?” He smirks.

“You’ve got yourself a deal.”

Super short chapter, sorry!

Just wanted this story to get moving. So now they’re “fake” dating. I’m sure this would end up in a disaster :P

By the way, I changed the cast. Francisco is now Cameron even though he’s only a minor character. But still! Sean is now Michael omfg. For those of you who have tumblr you HAVE to know about him. He’s complete sex material.

Next chapter is going to be dedicated to the first person who comments on this chapter! Please please pleaseeeeeeeeee?
