That night, I have trouble sleeping. I know my parents are probably waiting for me to go to sleep so that we can talk. I have this feeling that something is going to go wrong soon.

Eventually, I manage to sleep.

I wake from my slumber to the sun shining in my blue eyes. My clawmates, a lovely RainWing named Iris, & a Sky/MudWing named Daisy.

Iris stretches & yawns, her long, venomous fangs glinting in the sunlight. Her normally-maroon scales have waves of blue rippling over them. She rests her opal pendant around her neck. A wreath of her namesake purple irises settles on her brow. It was a birth gift from her sister & sister-in-law, Tamarin, & Anemone.

Daisy flares her large wings in a stretch. She stands & wraps her newest daisy-chain around her horns.

I slip off of my bed & fasten my precious locket around my neck. My friends & I walk to our first class.

When we get to the library, Uncle Starflight is already there with Auntie Fate. They're whispering nervously. I signal my friends to go ahead & grab some scrolls. I sneak over to my guardians.

"Are you sure?" Uncle whispers nervously.

"Positive," Auntie Fate answers, "I'm sure I saw him in possibility."

My uncle doesn't respond for a bit, worry painting his features, "We need to go into lockdown, no one enters or leaves. Especially the girls."

I walk over, "What's wrong?"

The jump & Auntie Fate answers cautiously, "Oh, there are just some rumors about a dangerous dragon being spotted nearby, so we're going to lock down the school. No biggie."

"But, what about my friends? They won't be able to go see their parents or siblings."

This time, my uncle explains, "We're going to give them the option to either go home, or stay here."

I nod & walk to my friends.

"So, what was... that all about?" Iris questions.

I explain to her what my guardians would tell me.

Daisy jumps into the conversation, "My parents will probably give me a choice about weather or not to stay."

"Which ones?" I ask.

"Well, after a long conversation, they came to the agreement to swap custody of me every month or so, but all four of them will probably let me stay if I want to." Daisy grew up with her adoptive parents, Sunny & Sky. A few months ago, her birth parents, Clay & Peril found her.

Iris sighs & says, "my parents probably won't let me stay here for an undetermined amount of time."

"What!?" I shriek, "You can't leave! We're the weirdo trio! Not the weirdo duo!"

The beautiful dragoness's scales turn a sad grey-blue. I wrap my wing around her & she rests her head on my shoulder. I rest my head on hers. I feel tears roll down my arm & neck, some are mine, some are Iris's.

She whispers almost silently, "I don't want to leave you."

I twine my tail with hers, "Me neither."
