DAZYA'S P.O.V
I opened my eyes.
"What happened?" I sat up and looked around. I was in a room. A recovery room? But how?
"Amalia? Amalia!" I try to get up but my head was throbbing. I flinched and grabbed my head to feel a bandage wrapped around it, "Where am I?"
"Your safe," I jumped alooked behind me, "Sorry, I didn't mean to uh, startle you." It was a boy. He had short black hair, light brown eyes and tan smooth skin. He was... kinda cute.
"It's fine..." he smiled then grabbed my head ever so gently. His hands were warm on my forehead as he began to unwrap the bandage. My heart began to beat faster.
"Um, are you registered for this work?"
"Relax," he grabbed an ice pack and sat it on my forehead, "I'm just checking you out." Did he just say he was checking me out? I smiled slightly. He instantly blushed.
"What I meant to say was I'm checking you for uh, internal injuries... nothing too serious so far.." he said as if he read my mind.
"Yeah, of course.." I looked around the room.
"So how did I hit my head?"
"Well," he sat next to me, "You fell from a pretty high distance onto our roof. From the injury, it seems you may have a slight concussion, but you'll be fine... it would've been ALOT worse."
"Oh.. well I'm glad I'm okay.."
"Yeah me too.." the boy looked at me and smiled. He had an amazing smile... No! Stop it Dazya! You don't even know the kid's name!
"I'm sorry but I never caught your name.." I said.
"Oh, it's Thomas." he held out his hand.
"Dazya..." I shook his hand.
"Oh.. I like it. Very unique." I smiled.
"So Dazya, what brought you here?" I suddenly tensed up. Did he really have to go there?
"Well... I guess the fact that my parents...um... died." Thomas looked at me.
"I'm so sorry, how did they die?"
"They uh.. they died in an uh.. hotel collapse." I looked at him. His eyes widened.
"Casey to Thomas, are you there bro?" Thomas pulled out his walkie talkie.
"Thomas here, what's up?"
"You there with the girl?"
"Yeah," he looked at me and smile, "I'm here with her."
"Dude, this is your chance! You said she was the-"
"Um Casey, I'm going to have to talk to you later.. I'm kinda busy so.."
"Oh I see! Thomas my man is gonna make a -"
"Goodbye Casey!" Thomas put the walkie talkie in his pocket. I looked at him and smiled.
"What was that all about?"
"Oh that? That was just... nothing..."
"Ok," I looked down then looked at him, "So Casey.. you've guys known each other a long time?"
"Yeah, were like brothers... I've been there for him ever since his mom and dad were killed in a car accident.. It's really hard for him being the only child and all, but it seems like ever since we've hung out, he has been happier! And that's what I want his life to be like, ya know?"
"Yeah..." I looked away.
"Dazya, are you ok?" Thomas gently laid his hand on my shoulder. Ok, this has to stop! The touching, the smiling...
"I.. I should be going.." I got up and walked out the doors. Thomas followed me.
"It's really not good to walk just yet.. you're still in a lot of pain, maybe it's best if-"
"The pain in my head are the least of my worries...." I walked over to the wall and sat against it. Thomas sat next to me.
"Dazya, what's going on?" I looked at him.
"You're a stranger to me Thomas.. you wouldn't understand-"
"I know you may not know me, but I'm a person you can trust.. I mean, I trust you, can't you return the favor?" I looked at him and smirked.
"I miss them so much.. they were my only parents," I began to tear up, "Before they left, we got into an argument. It was so stupid! Yet, it made me so mad.. I told them I hated them and I wish that they were.... gone," A tear slipped down my cheek, "And now look what happened! They're gone!.. permanently..forever! I didn't even get to say goodbye.." Thomas put his hand on my knee.
"Dazya, you can't blame yourself for your parents death.. I understand that you guys got into an argument, but they loved you Dazya, whether they said it or not," I looked at him, "From what I've met of you, you're a sweet, kind... wonderful person.. they were lucky to have you," he stood up and helped me up, "And I was lucky to meet you." I smiled.
"Thank you Thomas... I guess I can trust you..." He let out a weak smile.
"Yeah," he looked down, "You can trust me.."
"Score for the big guy!" Thomas turned and looked at the golf cart.
"I'm guessing that's Casey?" Thomas smiled. He helped me to the car.
"Whoa dude.. she is beautiful... you weren't kidding!!" I looked at Thomas. He blushed.
"Beautiful?"
"Well, no.. he said you when he found you unconscious he was sure he had just stumbled upon a fallen angel that-"
"Ok Casey, can we go now?" Casey smiled.
"Sure thing Bro." Thomas helped me into the car. Casey looked back at me.
"That had the eyes of the stars that twinkled above!"
"Casey! Drive!" Casey smiled and began to drive. I looked at Thomas as he shifted his glance from the window to me. He smiled slightly then looked away. Maybe coming here wasn't ago bad after all...
