Mary
Alyssa just spilled nail polish all over her pink comforter. She yelled and cursed until one of her roommates came in to ask what happened. I didn't think it was the end of the world, but apparently Alyssa did. She tore her comforter off her bed and threw it in her hamper. She moaned about how now she had to do another load of laundry. She better do it now if she doesn't want it to stain. But even if I could talk to her, I wouldn't tell her that. I'm not sure how everyone got lucky with amazing roommates and I got stuck with the she-devil. She's made me wonder if I really was a horrible person in life and this was actually my own personal hell. Sometimes, I thought that Alyssa secretly knew that I was trapped here with her and was set out to make my sentencing even worse.
Hours passed and Alyssa talked on the phone with her boyfriend while she loudly complained about her roommates. I got the impression that her boyfriend was just as done with Alyssa as everyone else from his uninterested uh-huh's and yep's. I had heard from Brooke that her boyfriend, Elijah, had tried to break up with her a few months ago but she wouldn't let him. Brooke said that Alyssa started freaking out and I think she even threatened to do something...drastic. Brooke later said that Elijah is probably cheating on her so that way she had to break up with him. Although I couldn't stand Alyssa, hearing about her and her drama was always entertaining.
Alyssa started to talk about a party she had gone to last weekend and she made sure to let Elijah know that at least five or six guys asked for her number but she told them she had a boyfriend. "You should be lucky to have me," Alyssa said. I was appalled that she said that to him, as if she's not the absolute worst. Alyssa put her phone on speaker and set her phone down. She picked up her nail polish once again and attempted to paint her nails.
"Really, Alyssa?" Elijah asked, clearly sounded exasperated. "How are you so selfish? I thought people like you only existed in crappy movies. You are a walking stereotype." Alyssa scoffed.
"You can't talk to me like that," she snapped.
"Well you talk to me like this every chance you get so I guess it's time you get a taste of your own medicine. I'm done."
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm done, Lys. We're over, and don't try to trap me by saying you can't live without me or any of that bullshit. I can't take this anymore. All you do is complain about your roommates who are the nicest people in the world. Hell, they put up with you so that makes them saints." The conversation continued and I didn't feel comfortable listening anymore. I left the room and went to Bella's room to explain what was happening. Neither of us felt remorse, Alyssa wasn't exactly easy to get along with.
I always believed in karma, and I felt satisfied that it was finally coming back on Alyssa.
About a half an hour later, I went back into Alyssa's room. Brooke, Miranda, and Sara were all sitting on her bed comforting her as she sobbed loudly. Sara rubbed her back in small circles.
"I'm sorry, Alyssa. I understand that this is really hard for you." Miranda said.
"How would you know what I'm going through? You've never even been in a relationship before. You can just shut the hell up." Miranda looked crushed, and I didn't blame her. She had done nothing to deserve that backlash from Alyssa.
"Fine." Miranda said as she stood up. "You can just sit in here and feel sorry for yourself even though you deserve everything that's come to you. I'm not going to try and feel bad for you any longer." With that, Miranda left Alyssa's room and slammed her bedroom door behind her. Sara and Brooke both got up to leave, but Alyssa grabbed Brooke's hand.
