I can see four kids and no sleep

After Sam and Bucky had successfully taken back the shield, Sam had invited you and Bucky to meet his sister along with his nephews. You were very excited to see the stories Sarah had up her sleeve. Bucky on the other hand, had denied the invitation at first, grumpy broody old man and all. You looked at him with widened eyes and playfully hit his chest. He sighed, defeated, and accepted the invitation with a forced smile.

"We will be more than happy to be there, Sam." You heard Bucky mumble something next to you and you rolled your eyes. "Well one of us will."

You were now sitting in the boat, sitting across from Sam and Sarah while your boyfriend sat next to you. Every once in a while, he'd look at you while you were giggling because of a joke Sam made, or just lost in the conversation, and he'd bring up your hand to his lips, placing a kiss a couple of times.

"The super soldier's a romantic, I see." Sam's sister teased. But before you could reply, Sam spoke up.

"You have no idea." He groaned and then made a disgusted face. "They've been all mushy mushy the whole time. Ya nasties." You laughed at Sam's comment, you thought Bucky was going to give the ultimate death stare, but to your surprise he smiled. You couldn't help but admire the smiling lines that formed around his eyes whenever he did it.

"I think it's cute." Sarah said, before you could thank her for her compliment, you were interrupted by the laughter and screaming of children.

The kids got on the boat and started running before they were stopped.

"Guys, y'all know you can't run here. Save it for later."

"Sorry, mom." One of them said.

"Sorry." The other mimicked and stopped their tracks. Sam got up and went to get the children.

"Guys, say hello to Y/N and Bucky."

"Hi, Y/N and Bucky!" You laughed, and Bucky looked tensed. Unsure how to handle...well, children. He was awkward with adults let alone kids. He just remained silent and waved his hand.

"Very nice to meet you. We've heard so much about you." You teased before you heard the little boy with glasses gasp.

"Are you the Winter Soldier?" You felt Bucky tense besides you and you honestly did too. You knew Bucky felt uncomfortable whenever someone brought him up.

"Yeah, kid."

"Wow! That's so cool! Your arm is so cool too!"

Bucky was left with no words. It's the first time someone wasn't completely repulsed by him, well besides his friends.

"T-thank you." You couldn't help but smile as you tighten your hold on Bucky's flesh arm, internally cheering him on.

"Can I climb on it?" Bucky choked.

"Can you what?"

"You know! Play on it, you can lift us up. Give us a ride! Pretty please." The kids put their hands together and pouted their lips.

"This isn't some ride from Disneyland, kid. Sorry."

"Oh, come on, Buck." You intervened. You wanted to mess with Bucky but part of you wanted to see him in the company of kids. You batted your eyelashes at him and leaned to lightly peck his lips. "Do it for me? Pretty please." You added. He rolled his eyes and sighed, yet again, in defeat.

"This isn't fair." He got up and held out his arm, you laughed when you heard the kids cheer. The children wasted no time to grasp on tightly on his arm, one taking a hold of his bicep and the other remained in his forearm. He started quickly going up and down and in circles, earning laughter from the kids. At first he had a very annoyed expression on, but shortly after it went away. Your heart swelled when you saw him start to smile and laugh along with the gang.

Bucky Barnes was enjoying his time with children. And when he saw you looking at him, he could sense what you were thinking. You wanted kids with him, and he wanted them too. And he'd be damned if he didn't give you the future both of you deserved.
