The camera displayed a small red light, indicating that it was now recording. The girl took a few minuscule steps back, taking a seat that she had centred in front of the camera.
"Hi there! I'm [Y/N] [L/N], and this is my audition tape for Total Drama Island!" She brushed a few strands of her [H/C] locks out of her face, tucking them behind her ear.
"There isn't too much to know about me. I'm a sixteen-year-old girl, I live with my parents and two siblings, and I just want to get out of the house and do something exciting!"
"I know you're probably looking to typecast your contestants, and there isn't much special about me, but I'd really like to use the money to get into a career of my choice, whatever that may be! Hopefully, you consider me to join your show!" The girl sent a quick wave, before standing up and making her way to the camera, before the screen shut off.
"Finally, let's meet our last contestant. She's known to be one of the kindest, sweetest people known. Welcome, the heartthrob, [Y/N]!" The male exclaimed, as the rickety boat halted at the dock. I collected my two bags, stepping onto the wooden planks. I shot the other campers a broad grin.
"Hi there! It's nice to meet you all." I spoke through my smile, trying not to seem fazed by the sudden attention. It was as if all their eyes were on me. As I made my way to the end of the dock with the other campers, a short brunette boy perked up beside me.
"What's up, good looking? The name's Cody, but I'm also known as the Code-ster." The boy beamed, trying to slicken his voice. I couldn't help but smile.
"It's nice to meet you, Cody." I gave him a quick nod of acknowledgement, before turning my attention back to the host.
"First things first. We need a group photo for the promos. Everyone at the end of the dock!" Chris made his way to the top of the boat I'd just climbed off, and he pulled out a camera. The rest of us gathered at the end of the dock. I wedged my way in between a goth-looking girl and a boy with shaggy blonde hair and a cowboy hat.
"Okay! One, two, three!" I shot my brightest smile, as a small 'click' was heard.
"Oops! Okay, forgot the lens cap. Okay, hold that pose. One, tw-. Oh wait, cards full. Hang on!" The host sighed, and a few groans were emitted from around me.
"Come on, man. My face is starting to freeze." A girl nearby commented, rolling her brown eyes.
"Got it, okay. Everyone, say Wawanakwa!" Chris enthused, and I once again plastered on a smile.
"Wawanakwa!" We chanted, and cracking was heard underneath me.
"Woah!" Suddenly, I was submerged in cold, freezing water. A hand grabbed my arm, pulling me up. When I was able to retrieve air, I coughed.
"You okay?" I nodded, glancing up. It was a tall, tanned male. His brown hair glistened from the water droplets. He was attractive, to say the least.
"Yeah, thanks for that." I rubbed my goosebump-covered arms, trying to receive warmth.
"I'm Justin." The male introduced, wringing his shirt out to excrete the water.
"Nice to meet you, Justin." I exclaimed, smiling. Chris, with an amused look plastering his face, coughed to gain our attention.
"Okay guys. Dry off and meet at the campfire pit in 10." With that, the host left. I shook my head, sighing. I slowly began making my way up off the beach.
