"-y/n. Hello? Y/n!" I heard a familiar voice say from behind as I felt a hand grab my shoulder, making me jump. I warily turned my head around and I was met with the face of Justin.

"Oh. Justin. Hey. What's up," I answered, my mind still confused from the daze I was ripped out of. He towered over me, casting a shadow, darkening my surroundings. My neck hurt at the angle I looked up at him, and I turned around to face him.

"Wait. What happened to basketball practice?" I asked, confused

"I was just getting water from the fountain, but never mind that," Justin said, smirking. "How'd you get that Harry Styles weirdo to talk?"

"Harry Styles?"

"Yeah, the guy you just talked to, he transferred here just last week. You were knocked out, so you wouldn't know, but dude never talks to anyone besides his other friends that he transferred with," he said, a dim sparkle in his eyes and a mischievous grin accentuating his up-to-no-good nature.

"He didn't really seem that way," I said, confused. "He was... kind of nice, I think."

"He was really weird around you, for sure," Justin said. "Never seen him act that weird around anyone."

"Why? What happened to him?"

"No one knows," he said, thinning his eyes, grinning. "Just that man's really weird. Acts kinda... off."

"Off?"

"Mm-hmm," Justin hummed and turned his head. "Well, I gotta go. Coach will beat my ass if I'm late."

He turned himself around toward the court and started to take a step.

"Wait, what do you mean by-"

"I'll tell you later," he said, smiling from ear to ear as he took off, jogging.

I sighed. He was really annoying sometimes. I had no choice but to suck it up and head to class.

The first half of school went by in a blur. Even though it's been a week since I attended classes, the lectures weren't at all less repetitive nor boring. Once the classes for the morning were over, I walked to the cafeteria to get my favorite food - noodles with my favorite toppings - and got to my usual seat in the corner.

I usually sat alone where no one would see me. It's always been this way, with girls staring at me with hateful eyes and spreading rumors simply because I was friends with Justin, their supposed dream boyfriend. No one really wanted to hang out with someone like me or other girls would look at them the same way they looked at me. Though it got inconvenient with everyone hating me at times, it didn't bother me. I liked being alone, peaceful, quiet, and free to do whatever I wanted.

I sandwiched a few noodles in between my chopsticks and placed them carefully in the Chinese spoon. I then scooped up some soup with the spoon and placed a topping on it: The perfect bite. I took a moment to look at it in adoration - food has amazing visuals, smell, taste, and sounds... It was worth appreciating. I was about to take a bite, but a hand grabbed my arm and moved it away from me, taking the spoon with it.
