"M/n, how could this?! He was you father and you killed him!!"

The young boy named M/n didn't know what had happened.

He touched his father's hand, and the next thing he knew he turned in to dust.

That...never happened before.

"H-how did I-" The boy stuttered, trying to find the right words to say to his mother. He was four years old and very afraid of his mother.

"Get Out!" She yelled.

"But-" She struck the boy before he was able to speak.

"Get OUT!" She repeated, and the boy obeyed. He ran, and ran, and ran. Until he ended up deep in the forest where his mother warned him to never go. He stayed in one spot in the forest. He didn't want to move and get more lost than he already was.

M/N POV

My stomach began to rumble, ".........."

I sighed in defeat, closing my e/c eyes.

I was so scared and confused.

How did I kill my father anyway? All I did was touch him then....

*Caw*

My eyes shot open and I looked up to see a large hawk on the ground. It was somehow pushing an apple towards me to grab my attention.

*Caw*

"........" I stayed silent unable to speak. I pointed to the apple and back to me.

The bird chirped happily to which I assume means 'Yes'. I grabbed the apple and smiled at the bird. It swayed it's brown feathers and shun it's yellow eyes in a happy motion as I took a bite out of the apple.

"......." I swore I could see a smile from the bird.

After we were done, the bird was full of energy.

It gestured me to follow it into the forest. It helped calm some off my nerves, but what happened today will forever be stuck in my mind.

I named the bird 'Coco' since it's one of my favorite beverages, and its feathers were the same color as crushed coco beans.

It showed me beautiful scenes I never knew existed from rivers to far away mountains. I swam in rivers, climbed mountains, and hunted boars. It was a fun way of living.

****

It's been seven years since I met Coco. When I was six, Coco led me to a place called 'Whale Island'. I was told that this was where she was raised, and she lived happily under its conditions and wanted the same for me.

I was happy to know she cared and she was always by my side, but all I was here was a homeless eight year old with a large bird.

I was walking by myself with Coco on my shoulder. I couldn't believe how far this place was from my original home.
