Those who knew her
called her Weeze
A woman of great character
Missions had her heart
She witnessed to an alcoholic
& gave a minister his start
She was thirteen at the time
& from there her faith just grew
She taught classes at the same church
Where she played piano too
She raised a family filled with the love
Of her Father up above
She prayed to Him from here on Earth
So that others may know their worth
Cooking was her hobby
She made recipes everyone knew
Sweet rolls with pink icing
Had people lined up before she was through
Invited to the National Pillsbury Cook-off
In Washington D.C.
Her lemon supreme cake was chosen
& a brand new kitchen she received
Sharp as a tack 'til her last breath
She was able bodied & giving
She loved doing things for others
That made her life worth living
Her family was her pride & joy
Her heavenly Father the Head of House
She resides in His kingdom now
Making up the years lost with her spouse
A commendable woman
For ninety-eight & a half years
Memories will be joyous
Though at this time we shed tears
She leaves behind a legacy
Some massive shoes to fill
I hope when she looks down from Heaven
Pride is what she feels
