“Wow, they sure showed up fast.” Jimmy mused as a sea of uniformed police scoured the home.

Rachel watched on curiously. “I used Stella’s phone.” She admitted. The Dweeb looked up at me as to why that mattered. I shrugged. “I got Meguire on speed dial. It comes in handy.” His look became flat, that usual judgment in his eyes.

I scowled at him before returning the look. “Oh big whoop. You had him on it too.” I muttered the last part lowly so only he could hear.

He seemed to realize that I had a point because he immediately dropped the subject.

That’s what I thought, you loser.

Man this is so damn annoying. I didn’t even want to be here! I wanted to go see Harley. But noooooo. I had to come to this stupid party!

I shot Rachel another glare and she avoided eye contact. Again. I’ve voiced my displeasure multiple times on the matter, especially after finding Kenan dead. I didn’t like the guy, but I didn’t want this for him.

Even if he did have it coming.

No, no. He’s a douche but he didn’t deserve to die yet.

We were inside so we could be questioned. “Preliminary toxicology report shows the cause of death to be poison. Enough juice to take out a dozen men. Ms.Watson, Kenan took a bit of your chocolate before he collapsed, is that right?” Meguire questioned Katie, who sat on the couch, her head down, tears in her eyes.

All of a sudden, Richard popped up behind Meguire. “A murder always tends to dampen a party.”

Meguire jumped away, surprised by his appearance. “I don’t remember sending an invitation, Moore!” He shouted at Richard, getting over his initial surprise.

“But as a world class detective, it would be tragic should I not help solve this simple crime.” He saluted a bit. Jimmy and I glanced at each other, not amused by his theatrics.

“The murder is you madam!” He pointed to Katie who jumped at his accusation. “You planted poison in your chocolate with a clear motive! Kenan turned back your advances time after time! Everything will be made clear when your chocolate is analyzed.”

You just got here.

She didn’t kill him. Look at her. She obviously cared about him.

“No! You’re wrong! I would never harm a single hair on his head!” She cried, bringing her hands to her eyes and began to sob uncontrollably.

Carrie went to comfort her friend. I don’t think she killed him. She’s harmless. And the fact that he thinks she did solidifies it.

Then, how did he die? Everyone here ate all the same food. Kenan included. We drank the same beer and coffee too. We had everything together-oh.

Wait a second. Kenan didn’t eat cake. But that doesn’t make any sense. And before he went out . . .

“Stella.” Jimmy whispered. I glanced down to see him motioning me to lean in. I squatted down and leaned closer. “What is it Dweeb?” I asked. He looked over to Norman. “He gave Kenan a cigarette. You smoke, is that a real brand?”

I thought back to that moment. “Yeah, my friend used to smoke that same brand. But it doesn’t mean he didn’t do something to them.”

He nodded in agreement. “Well, there was a threat to him before he did die . . .” Tommy spoke, glancing over at me as I stood back up.

Everyone turned to follow his gaze at me. Meguire gave me a flat look. “Is that right?”

Katie sniffled, only half listening to us. “She said she’d kill him.” She murmured, not putting conviction in it, but telling what happened.
