What people don't get

what most people forget

is that when others don't get it

it isn't a horrible thing.

they think they're so great

all filled up with hate

really, they should rethink.

it's not really that hard

you don't need be a bard

to get off your mighty throne.

right off the bat

they assume you're a gnat

compared to prowess of their own.

don't you have your troubles

no matter how subtle

why make some for everyone else?

why not be a friend

someone on whom to depend

oh, how that icy heart of yours melts!

so what im trying to say

with no further delay

is to not judge by a first glance.

im not an expert by far

but we're still all stars

really, give it a chance!

So...yeah welcome to my poem book! I just had a bad experience today of people underestimating me because of first impressions and being part of some minorities and I just wrote this. I've been trying to get into poetry for awhile now, and I guess this is the first thing I was inspired to write about.
