"Casita Breaking Point"

(Maria's Pov)

The cracks of the walls that "Hernando" has patched up were now starting to break down, creating a line of cracks around us

Bruno and I, hand to hand started running through the maze of walls. With each corner, Bruno hold my hand as tightly as he could. Unable to let go, as we kept on running. Seeking a way to get out,

"T-The painting! It's our only exit!" I yell over to him, making our way through the dust slipping through the ceilings. As we saw our only opening. After Bruno reached for his arms to open, from above La Casita ceiling were about to collapse right above Bruno

"W-wait--!" I stopped myself from running any further, pulling back Bruno from ever reaching the painting. Landed himself onto me, the ceiling from above us fell. Crashing down infromt us, breaking the floor underneath

If Bruno tried lunging himself any closer to the painting, we both could've gotten squashed

"M-Maria! A-are you..??--"

"I-Im fine, I'm fine b-but--t-the painting, it was our only escape" I tell Bruno

He looked over from above us, as he had the bucket he wore ontop of his head earlier. He than stood up, grabbing the bucket and putting it over his head

I look over to see his rat friends, (It completely went over my head that they weren't mice, they were rats. I'm sorry for the misinformation)

Taking one and putting him safely inside my dress pocket. Bruno than grabbed my hands once again,

"Okay, on the count of three I'll crash into the wall--"

"Okay okay--wait n-no wait--!"

"One, two--!" Before he can count to three, a crashing line of bricks were heading our way. Making Bruno take action

"THREE!" He yelled, smashing through the walls. As we still held our hands together, I was also met by Bruno outburst but soon. He wrapped his arms around me, protecting me from the fall as we rolled off together

Making me groan, Bruno on the other hand had his bucket intact held my back, before I can say thank you. We look on over to see La casita breaking down. As we hear people yelling and calling for Mirabels name

"M-Mirabel..?" I mumbled her name, as we saw from above seeing the house collapsing

"Mirabel! Mirabel!"

"Mirabel, we have to get out!" I hear Mirabels mother and father yell for her to get out

"Mirabel, leave it!" I hear Julieta cries outloud

"M-Mirabel?? She's inside?? W-we have to go!!" I say outloud, about to get up. Bruno wraps his arms around me, making me unable to move

"N-no! Maria, don't! You'll get hurt!"

"B-but Mirabel is still in there!"

"The house is collapsing! You won't reach her on time!" Bruno tells me, before we knew it. The green building from above collapsed down, as many bricks started to fall

Gasping, covering my mouth. I can hear nothing but of La Casita breaking.

"Mirabel!!" I yell for her name, as I felt Brunos arms wrapped tightly around me. As we saw the house remains on the ground. As white fog and smoke came out from the ground.

I felt worried sick about Mirabels safety, I look behind Bruno as he looked down at me

"I-I need to find M-Mirabel," I tell Bruno. He nods before letting me go, before I can run in. I turn around and hugged Bruno tightly, bringing him into my embrace
