Kali is in her office when her beeper beeps. It means she's needed in the ER. She rushed to get there.

"What do we got?" She asked the nurse.

"A patient was involved in a fight. He was hit badly in the head with a baseball bat and gunshot wounds," the nurse informed.

"A gang fight?" She asked shaking her head.

But when she heard the ambulance, she doesn't know why but she feels nervous.

She went out to see but her world stopped seeing who the patient is.

"Kith,"

She said almost inaudible. She couldn't hear the nurse that's been calling her.

She snapped back to her senses when she heard a commotion. It was CC.

"Let me go! I need to help-

"You know it's not allowed!" Jer told her.

"What do you want me to-

"CC, calm down! I'll take care of him. I'll make sure he'll be fine," Kali butted in.

She didn't wait for her response and go on with giving instructions.

"Get the OR 2 ready," she said before she went to check the result of the tests. CC came with her.

"Damn those bastards," Zy said.

"Is it bad?" Boy asked.

"There's a clot at this part. About the gunshot, fortunately, it was just a graze. The operation will be successful but the real battle is the aftermath," she said.

"He will be fine, right?" Jer asked worriedly.

"Don't worry. He will be fine,"

Kali said and excused herself. She went to the locker to change. After doing the preparations, she took a deep breath before entering.

"I know you are all tense in this operation because of his status but, above anything else, let's forget about it and just do our best, okay?"

"Yes, doctor," they all said.

She nodded, "Let's start,"

After almost two hours, Kali came out of the OR. Kith's siblings rained her with questions.

"Relax, he's fine. But-

"But what?" Boy asked.

"He's in the state of coma. He will be moved to the S floor. You can wait there," she said.

"I thought he's fine?! Why is he-

"Boy!" CC shush him up.

"It's okay, C. It's normal after the operation. His brain lacks the amount of oxygen needed. It's better than having a stroke during the procedure. That will be more dangerous. For now, we need to monitor him and wait for him to wake up to see the outcome. Then, we can come up with what to do next,"
