Chapter 53

Tris
"Hi dad. I've missed you."
"I've missed you too kiddo."
After my mom took my hand I felt so light. no more pain, no more suffering.
Peaceful.
And then, I found myself in our house, with my dad sitting at the table like he always did. I finally feel safe and truly happy. But then I remember Tobias.
As if my mom could read my thoughts she said
"He's okay honey. do you want to see him?"
"Yes please."
She walks past my dad and up the stairs. I follow but give him a kiss as I pass by.
"I love you." he says. I smile.
"I love you too." and then I follow my mom up the stairs.
When we get up the stairs, she turns and heads into my room.
" What are we doing in here?" I ask.
"Come look." she walks over to my mirror and opens it.
"Look inside and imagine who you want to see." I start thinking of Tobias and his strong arms, warm eyes, and when I start to actually look at the mirror I see him.
He is getting a tattoo and has his eyes closed but he still looks handsome. I keep getting distracted by him not having a shirt on though...
Then the tattoo artist steps back and I can see what it is. I start to tear up.
"What's wrong Beatrice?" My mom asks.
"His tattoo, he got it for me. Its just like mine."
"You know he loves you right?"
"Yeah."
"Do you want me to leave you alone for a bit?" She asks.
"Yes please." I say and she walks out of my room.
When I turn back, I see him and Christina hugging and crying. I start crying too because I hate seeing them so upset.
I love them so much.
It hurts.

I keep watching him and everyone else until they fall asleep. Even then I watch him. He is so cute when he sleeps.
But I soon go downstairs to my parents and talk with them like I use to.
I am so happy that I get to see them again.

When I get tired I head up to bed, but with one thought
Do I have to leave?
