Date: Early May (I suppose, it's hard to tell time anymore).

Just been busy busy busy with this mission, and I'm still alive, so I guess that's still a good thing. But, sometimes it feels like I'm really getting nowhere.

I know this'll eventually end, and I'll get to go home, if I'm still alive. But, it feels like I've been here forever. And yes, it sometimes feels like I'll never get to go home.

I was feeling bored, then I noticed some of the men playing basketball. I went out to see how they were doing.

They were playing really good. One of them noticed I was watching, and asked me if I could referee their game.

I was stunned, and touched at the same time. One time, quite some years ago, my team was playing basketball in the gym, and I decided to referee their game. I even had to bench one playing for violating a rule!

This game was quite fun. I think they really enjoyed my company, I know I definitely enjoyed theirs.

The whole thing reminded me of being home. It was a good feeling, until I remembered I was overseas in a war zone very far from home.

Sigh. Sometimes, a reminder of home can be the one thing that cn help us keep going, especially when you really miss home.

I was doing a little cleaning in my bunk, when I found a bottle of gin that I completely forgot I packed!

That gin did definitely taste good, beats the cheap crappy excuse for beer in this area Too bad I didn't pack tea. Though, there's not a teamaker here, so it'd be useless anyway! (chuckles).

I left my temporally substitute a bottle of gin as well, hope she likes it.

Well, time to get back to work.
