The Orc War!!

The next morning, we gather everyone up, and Rimuru, in his blob form and on a pedestal, announces, "...And therefore, we're taking on the orc army. The decisive battle will take place in the wetlands. As long as we win, all is well. But if we lose, you need to abandon this place at once and flee to the treant gathering. In all honesty, our foe is quite formidable. We're fighting to win, but even if we lose, there is no cause for panic. I'll keep you informed of the situation with 'Thought Communication.' Just stay calm, and follow the plan we set up. And now... I will announce the members of the first battle party!!" 

After that, the females got to play dress-up with Rimuru as their life-size doll. Thankfully, my form was too masculine to make me look like a girl, plus I slipped out of their clutches before they could try. I heard Rimuru talking to Soei through "Thought Communication" and I relay the message of arriving at the wetlands in about seven days to the first battle party.

About a hundred goblins, including Gobta, Benimaru, Hakuro, Soei, Shion, Ranga, Korg, Rimuru, and I are heading to the wetlands. On the third day, we set up camp, when Rimuru and I get a thought call from Soei. 'Do you have a moment, Lords?' We answer and ask if he's found anything. He replies with, 'Well, I've found two groups fighting each other. One is a personal guard to the lizardman chieftain. I recognize them from when I was there to parley. The other side are the orcs. One higher form of orc, and about 50 grunts. The sole higher orc seems to want to display his strength. He's handling the lizardman himself.' We ask him if he could beat the orcs and he answers immediately that "It should be simple." Wow, what a stud...

Rimuru and I look at each other and nod as I instruct Soei, 'All right. This stinks for the lizardman, but this is a good chance to observe the orcs' ability. Watch as long as you can. If things start looking bad for the lizardman, step in and save them. Rimuru and I'd want to know why one was out there alone.' while Rimuru announces that camping is canceled and hops onto Ranga to get to Soei with Shadow Movement. I jump into Korg'a mouth and have him use Earth Movement to get to Soei as well.

We slimes arrive at the scene of the orcs already dead by Soei's hands. We go over to the female lizardman as I hand Rimuru one of my healing elixirs. She was surprised by how fast her fatal wounds healed. We introduce ourselves to her and Soei if the High Orc is still alive, which he confirms. But then, the orc gets back up and says, "You purposely didn't finish me off? A likely excuse... Your tiny, weak arms cannot sever my flesh, that's all. Did you hope to appear bold before your master? It is too bad for you! THE ORC LORD HIMSELF GRANTED ME THIS INCREDIBLE STRENGTH, AND YOU ARE NOTHING IN MY PRESEN-" That's all he could say before Shion sliced him in half with her huge-ass sword.

She's clearly fishing for compliments as the lizardman (lizardwoman? I don't know) exclaims, "Beware! His cohorts are still around us!" before becoming dazed at how quickly Benimaru and Hakuro killed them. She then bows and says, "Please! I beseech you! Please save my father, the chieftain, and my brother Gabiru!!" Rimuru asks what happened to them and she explains, "Gabiru started a rebellion and imprisoned the chieftain. My brother seems to think that he can fight off the orcs on his own. He sorely underestimates the orc lord...and this mistake will surely lead to the downfall of our people. I know my request is a selfish one. But I must assume that such mighty Majin under your rule, that you are beings of great power..."

Shion then accepts her request for us. We just sigh as Rimuru asks the lizardman as the proxy of the chieftain if she has any objections to our alliance. She says that she doesn't. I nod and Rimuru has Soei use Shadow Movement to get to the chieftain.
