Delegations Exchange

A few days after the Charybdis battle, Tempest has returned to its peaceful self. Fuze has reported back to his nation to convince Blumund nobility to forge peaceful relations with our country. We also had to explain the flying whales to the dwarven envoy after receiving a formal invitation from King Gazel. Now and then, Phobio would bring news from Yuurazania.
He's hoping to become a courier and after our first encounter, he acts more poise. Apparently, Carrion wants us to send delegates from both nations to improve our diplomatic relationships. Of course, as we become more of a nation, political strategy is key.

Even then, Rimuru and I have continued to train ourselves in combat if necessary for anything. We gave Milim some new weapons called Dragon Knuckles as promised and we decide to spar with her. Two against one seems unfair unless it's us against her. Ugh... Rimuru uses [Flare Circle] on her while I use [Earth Configuration] to hold her at bay to take the hit. But somehow, he missed!

I was confused by that before I catch after the opening he made with her being distracted. Although,... she was ready for us as she sets off a plume of fire or whatever, leaving us laying on the ground. Milim looms over us and says happily, "You two're getting pretty good! You guys would be great demon lords by now!" We smile and tell her that we still won't become demon lords. After that, we take a break. I still plan on beating that demon lord who killed this human body's original owner. From what I could gather from this guy's memories, the demon lord is a male and I can vaguely see what he looks like. I'm sure I'll be to recognize him if I ever meet him in person. We ask Milim why she became a demon lord and she replies, "Let's see. I think there was something that... Annoyed me?" as a question as if we knew what that something was. She tells us that she can't recall why, which makes sense that being the oldest demon lord, she has probably lived a way longer life than the two of us combined, despite her appearance and personality. We then ask her if she has any family or anyone who worries about her. "I do have people who care for me," she explains, "But they don't worry. You see, I'm the strongest. Rather than worry, they fear me. That's why you guys are my only friends!" I sweatdrop at that.

After our lunch break and everything, Milim suddenly drops a bomb on us by saying, "Ok! I'm going to work now!" We were perplexed by this as she heads outside with us following her. "I'll put in a good word for you to the demon lords," She tells us as she flies off. We holler to have a good trip. She arrived without notice and left just as abruptly. I guess we don't have to look after Milim for a while, and Rigurd can finally relax during his patrols.

Suddenly, Rimuru dropped this bomb on me out of nowhere: "...I, too, will have to leave soon."

"Wait, what?! What are you talking about, Rimuru?!" I exclaim as he explains his promise to Shizu and I soon understood what he needed to do. "Alright. I get it. When the time comes, you go save those kids and I'll hopefully hold the fort."

*~*~*

A few days have gone by and Rimuru and I were playing with the [Gravity Manipulation] skill from eating Charybdis, and it actually helps me fly around with more stability when I use it and [Aerial Movement] to fly better. Soon enough, the day and time of sending our delegates to Yuurazania arrived. Those participating are some managing hobgoblins and a few of the elves, with Rigur and Mikasa as mediators, and Benimaru and Fue were appointed as the leaders. Even though we're living lavishly in Tempest, we're still unversed in the many facets of being a nation. By forging friendly relationships with Yuurazania, we are one step closer to being recognized as a nation by the outside world. Therefore, we need to raise the team's morale. And so, Rimuru and I walk onto the open stage and he says, "Guys, do your best out there."
