𝓨/𝓷 POV-
The day had dawned. The once fully bloomed sun had blossomed over the busy and bumping town, leaving no traces behind; disappeared. Only leaving a deep, dark, eerie feeling, to which had consumed me.
Something about Mondstadt didn't sit right with me, I couldn't put my finger on it. Not just yet...
I had gotten some weird looks throughout today, very strange ones indeed. Their capricious behaviour was unpredictable, completely unforeseen.Yet, I was 'new' to the city again. So I was likely to have turned some heads. That was the minimum of what was to be expected. But people murmuring about me behind my back, and not coming up to me? I don't know if I like their audacious manner.
"I have ought to have a more 'glass half full attitude', stop having such high levels of contempt for people. Jeez." As ironic as it is, I began to murmur about myself- to... myself? And then it hit me.
"Oh. Wagner-,"
Amber had said she'd nipped off to see a 'friend' of hers, whose of which house she is currently staying at, and she said I can stay there for the meantime. Of which I am in her debt, once again... Though I am quite gratified to be waited upon with such manners. Such a lovely lady.
I began to eagerly rush down the cobbled alley way- unsure of my directions to return to Wagners once again. Though I just followed the smell of the slowly, yet surely, dissipating smoke, clearly swaying, gently in the wind above, which was quite strong to be honest. It pushed me- almost causing me to trip forwards.
"Archons sake," I shook my head, bobbing it around, looking if anyone was out to see me humiliate myself.
Thankfully there was no one. There it was. The blacksmiths. Some defined, muscular men were packing their bags, seemingly going to their cottages to see their partners once more, and settle down in front of an dimly illuminated room, holding each other close. What a nice life.
Eventually I made my way up to the man himself. And there he was again, with a case in his arms, carelessly slung there.
"Hmph. [Y/n] it's good to see you back. I thought you'd forget, or wouldn't show."
"I wouldn't miss it for the world! Heh,"
('You're lucky my lungs smelt the vile smoke so I didn't forget, ugh, I wanna go to sleep.' )"Here it is."
He dropped the long, grey satchel onto the worktop. Unzipping the zip that held the unknown contents, and glow and behold, there it was.
The architecture of the weapon was captivating, nothing of which I had seen before! The handle reminded me of grasping green vines, if you held onto them, you'd never be able to let go. The body of the sword consisted of an inky, navy blue colour, but the blade was a translucent white, which had a slight twinkle to it if you looked upon it at a different direction. And in the handle of the sword, there were accents of faint golds, mixed into the deep blue, creating a whimsical appearance.
"Goodness." A faint breath left my ajar lips. "It's, just, beautiful." I reached my hands out to pick it up, but looked at Wagner for permission first before I made a move. As to which he nodded his head in return.
A glisten came across my eyes due to the reflection in the moonlit air, and cautiously, I picked it up. And I began to raise it up in the air, high above my head to get a better look at the beautifully carved weapon.
But after a second of excitement...
"Huh!?"
The weapon had been snatched from my hands, and now was in the hands of this ludicrous stranger to my right.
"What do you think you're doing?" Wagner stated, anger phoning behind his raspy voice. Though that anger suddenly stopped.
"Oh it's you, I didn't expect to see you here at this time." Wagner said to the man.
I began to turn to the rude individual, scanning him from head to toe. As I worked my way up to his face, I noticed how he stood. Legs shoulder width apart. Indirectly, showing his importance. A quite significant stance, his posture stood tall, dominating even. He wore relatively substantial, regal attire. Polishing his figure. A slim waist, broad shoulders, a perfect ratio.
And then his face...
Like a porcelain doll. An alabaster hue ravaged and raved over his aloof complexion. His chin was tilted downwards, looking and inspecting my weapon, my newly crafted, sacred item. And the way he did that was just so captivating.
Gloved hands, sealing slender fingers within, traced the creases of the sword back and fourth, rubbing and running his fingers through every detail, every crevasse, almost like he was seducing the weapon at most.
Such small, minute, mannerisms from him, dealt so much impact, silent impact. That was the most intimidating feature that came from him.
After fully examining the finely polished blade, he looked back up at Wagner, fully ignoring my presence. Dignified handy-work was thrown to waste when he spoke his assertive mind.
"You've done better. It's flimsy at the base. I'd suggest you fix it before you start selling these. Though, I do suppose the blade is in good shape. It's a good material. Where did you find it?" A baritone voice escaped him, adding to his character.
Wagner looked defeated by this slobs remarks. But yet, he responded.
"Yes. I'll get back to it, right away. And the ore was found this morning, if we find any of the same value. I will set a reservation under your name for it." The blacksmith turned to look at me, averting his gaze from the stranger. "Unfortunately [Y/n], you'll have to wait until tomorrow. I have ought to fix this." He paused, "Thank you for your critique, sir."I stood dumbfounded, looking blankly at the weapon- which was still located in the man's hands.
He spoke, once more.
"[Y/n], hm. Next time, try to find how to actually identify faults in your purchases. Don't be so lousy, he here, has rushed this. I know you can do better Wagner, it's not often I catch you lacking as such. Do fix it, yes?"
My eyes flickered about the two men which surrounded me.
'This isn't right? Why is this dunce trying to correct a professional? Ignorant much.'"What are you saying? The craftsmanship of this is grand! Goodness. What mouth have you got to be so stuck up?" (The least I could have done was stick up for Wagner. With all of the hospitality he's shown me.)
He passed the sword over to Wagner. And then proceeded to look at me.
"Hm. I believe you're mistaken."And he turned his back from me.
"Oh and Wagner, do let me know how this sword shows progress. Make it better."His slim frame eventually faded into the dark streets of this secretive city...
"Yes Master Diluc."
