Jianyu

Jianyu's life flashed before his eyes. As a Blazing column of fire almost burned his face-off, he wondered when the attacks on his life would stop, until the fire instantly dissipated in front of his eyes. "WHO DARES QUESTION MY AUTHENTICITY NOW?" Someone yelled over the sound of quivering locals. Jianyu's eyes shot towards the figure standing under the giant stone phoenix in the town square. Stone paths all lead here, a circular cobblestone floor with a huge statue of a ruby-red phoenix in the center. Townsfolk crowded around the place, all though not one of them stepped foot in the cobblestone center, which seemed to have been spontaneously combusting, judging by the scorch marks that decorated the stone. A man stood on the pedestal of the phoenix statue, yelling at locals. His umber brown skin showed in the sunlight, and his fire-red chest plate and armor pieces on his elbows and knees slightly covered his simple brown shirt and black jeans. A Khopesh was set in a brown sheath strapped to his side, and his tiger orange eyes were arched in clear anger. The man had his chocolate brown dreadlocks tied in a neat ponytail and bore a red feather with a Fire orange flame in the middle arranged on the right side of his head. "Crap". Jianyu thought, his brow furrowing. The phoenix feather was the symbol of a brazierian soldier, but more importantly, the fire orange feather was a symbol of the medjay, an elite group of guards tasked with protecting the Pharaoh, which last time Jianyu checked, though he and his sister tried to kill their rulers. "LISTEN UP". The medjay boomed, his voice deep and imposing. "IF YOU SEE ANYONE WITH GOLD HAIR AND GOLD EYES, THEY ARE FUGITIVES. DO NOT TRUST THEM. THEY ATTACKED THE PALACE LAST NIGHT". Riku flinched. Jianyu Panicked, realizing that he'd seen them without glamorous, and started forward. In the corner of his eye, he saw Xue fervently shaking her head, but she didn't get it. If Riku ratted them out, it would look so much worse for them than if he took a stand now. As he walked in long strides, Xue almost tripped over herself trying to pull him back.

"HEY" Jianyu yelled. "THE EMPRESS AND EMPEROR OF Leigong ARE DEAD. WHY WOULD WE BE THE ATTACKERS?" The medjay stared at Jianyu, and he promptly realized just how much he stuck out, with a warm ivory skin tone surrounded by people with dark brown ones.

"How would you know"? He asked plainly. Stepping down from the pedestal of the statue, the man walked up to Jianyu, getting in his face. Jianyu looked into the man's eyes and let a slight smile tug at his lips. In reality, Jianyu's armpits were sweating, and he wanted to get out of this situation as soon as possible.

"Because I was there," Jianyu said, letting his glamour slip off. The medjay jumped back, and right before Jianyu thought he had ended this conflict, he pulled out a beautiful obsidian black khopesh. The sickle-shaped blade shone with the quality of a magic item, and Jianyu knew he was in trouble. "Listen". Jianyu said, putting his hands up. "I'm not here to fight"

"Shoulda thought about that before you attacked us," The medjay said accusingly.

"As I said, there's no way or reason we raided your castle," Jianyu affirmed.

" A normal magic-user summons blue lightning. People with an affinity to lightning summon yellow lightning, And royals can summon purple lightning if they decide to. Only people born in Leigong have an affinity to lightning. So tell me why yellow electricity was the main weapon of the attackers?" The medjay asked, laying out all the evidence. Even if the attack wasn't sanctioned by Leigong, this was an act of war. There was no way an entire elite group of assassins formed in Leigong without them knowing, with attackers in the hundreds, and their complacency to not prevent this was certainly a shady act, if not a malicious one. Problem was, Jianyu was sure that there wasn't a secret group of killers who were from Leigong, or at least a group he didn't know about, (but that was a story for another day), and His parents would never keep secrets from him or Xue. Or would they? No. The assassins that attacked had been out to get all the royals. Brazier's, Leigong's, It didn't matter to them. They had succeeded in killing Jianyu's parents, which proved his point even further. Nothing could mimic the dragon head tattoo on Xue's arm. He collected himself and got ready to lay out his counter-argument when the medjay attacked. Swinging his blade in a wide arc towards the ground, It shattered the earth as Jianyu barely managed to avoid becoming cut in two. As the boy reached for a non-existent sword, he promptly realized he was in trouble. The medjay easily ripped his weapon out of the ground, his body glowing from the enhancement magic he'd used on himself. Of course, he was proficient in strength enhancement. All magic came from an origin point, even enhancement magic, and since the origin of the strength enhancement spell was fire, the people of Brazier had a natural affinity to it. None of this was good news for Jianyu, who now had to fight a beefed-up medjay while his sister stuck to her original plan of trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. But the boy had his weapons. "Well then". Jianyu said, a real smirk emerging from his face this time. "No hard feelings I guess.''As he said these words, purple lightning crashed down from the sky, slamming into the earth and leaving an exquisite double-edged broadsword with a masterfully crafted handle in its wake. Left sticking out of the ground was a blade of legendary proportions. A blade that granted the wielder some of the strongest power imaginable. A blade that had earned him the nickname Susano in the east district of Leigong. A blade, named Kusanagi.
