"Felix!" Mom shouted, grabbing the old Sony camera. She flipped on the camera, revealing me, a tiny 1 year old. "Say it again Ivy!" Dad chuckled, holding me in his lap. "Dada!" I laughed, Mom and Dad cheering me on. "Come on, say Mama already!" Mom grabbed my hand and shook it. "Please, Iv?" Then, almost like a miracle, the words floated out of my mouth. "Mama!" Mom and Dad exploded with laughter and yells. "We love you, Ivy Bear. We will always love you." Dad said, hugging me.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock shaking on my bedside table. 7am. I yawned and slipped my slippers on, flicking on my light switch as I got up. "Thank goodness your awake! You have a photo shoot at 12, charity singing at 3, and of course, the Award Rehearsal tonight at 8." Natalie said, busting through my bedroom door. "Why did you schedule so many things for today? You know it's my moms birthday." I sighed, walking over to my vanity.
"How could I forget? I'll have to schedule a meeting with you two between 5 and 6. You think an hour is enough?" Natalie walked over to me. Natalie's bright blonde hair made her look so evil, but Dad always told me to see the best in people, so I did. "No, that is absolutely not enough time. I want to see her as soon as I get ready. Also, make her an appointment at the Spa tonight at 8." I said, grabbing my hair brush and brushing out my long brown hair.
"Of course, Miss Ivy." Natalie squeaked, running out. Just as I got some peace and quiet, my makeup and hair team bursted in. Gosh, not even a moment of quiet in this place. Just then, my phone rang. "Hey can I grab that real quick?" I said, my hair stylist nodding. I reached for my phone, looking at the caller ID. It was Mom. "Hi!" I heard her voice ringing through the speakers. "Hey, happy birthday!" I shouted, my makeup and hair team looking quite annoyed.
"Thanks, it's already off to a good start. Also, Natalie let me know you where available as soon as your ready, which will be when?" Mom asked. I didn't want to tell her that I scheduled her into my day. "As soon as I'm ready I'll let you know Mom I promise!" I smiled, trying to mask the pain in my voice. "Okay, I love you Iv." "I love you too." I then hung up the phone, almost shedding a tear I was holding in my eye. I held it back strongly. "You okay Miss Greene?" My makeup artist said, grabbing a foundation brush.
"Yes." I sighed.

It was 9am and I was waiting outside my Moms house. It's brown roof shone in the morning light, glimmering. Just then, the door opened to reveal my lovely mother. "Ivy Jacklyn Greene, is that you in the flesh?!" She screamed, running towards me. We held each other close in a forever locked in hug, never wanting to let each other go. "I feel like I haven't seen you in years, darling. You really should visit more."
Her words struck me right in the heart, almost like a venom filled arrow. "I know I know, I've just been so busy." I twiddled with my thumbs silently. "What's going on? I deserve to know, it's my birthday after all." I looked away. "Nothing. Let's go shopping!" I shouted, leading her to the limousine.
Mom bursted in laughs and giggles as we sat in the back seat, gasping for air. The driver started the limo and drove down the road, chugging along silently.
At the mall, people flashed their cameras, whispering things about me. I knew it hurt Mom.
But I was determined not to ruin her birthday. "Come on, let's go to the food court and get some burgers shall we?" I smiled, trying to plaster a fake smile on my face. "Honey we can leave if you're not comfortable-" Mom said, me cutting her off. "No. I'm not ruining your big day just because of my feelings. Now come on, let's go get those burgers. We can even go to McDonald's, I know it's your favorite."Mom sighed and turned to me. "Fine. We shall."
