It was roughly a few hours into the morning, the sun had barely risen from the dawning horizon bed. Even the Centten servants have merely stirred in their cots, their quarters silent as mouse. Lisa herself, had only went to bed some hours after midnight because Shinji and Bambam had convinced her to come search for any wandering spirits lurking about the palace grounds.
She knew it had been a foolish idea in the first place. But that didn't stop her from putting on her riding boots mismatched in the dark. They circled the near the 'haunted' areas until they were almost mauled by one of her Father's bears. Lisa screamed Shinji's ear off as quietly as she could due to the lateness of their adventures and hurried to take her brother to bed.
She prayed that her mother would not catch them sneaking into their rooms barefoot at this unholy hour. The raven haired princess had lost her boots in attempting to outrun the bastard bear, but gained many bruises and even cuts on her toes. When she had properly tucked Bam in, she raced to her room and didn't bother to wash herself.
The girl seemingky fell into her mattress, scattering bits of dirt and grass on her covers. Asleep as soon as her eyelids fell shut.
But her slumber did not last for as long as she would have liked. For it was Rosé and Jennie who thought it was a brilliant plan to wake her up at the ass crack of dawn, and throw her in the river.
They had the militrike soldiers carry her in a brown potato sack to the Middlend river. The Ole' Water Dragon, at the back of the palace a few hundred yards away. Lisa was kicking and screeching, begging to be set free and letting loose a string of curses that should be illegal for a child such as herself to know.
At the sound of Rosé incessant scolding she stops but failing to cease laughing like a madman. During it all, a tiny Jennie Kim was giggling gleefully all the way.
It was the Midde princess's 13th birthday. They planned to prank Lisa, and it was all Jisoo and Bambam's idea. For once, Jennie wanted in on the fun and it was well worth it. She had a good laugh at the wet monkey with bangs, before the said monkey pulled her in the water with her. Lisa was always playful and now, she is 13. Bambam will be 11 soon, everyone was getting older. She would be 15 soon too and that meant she would be gone to Werston. They weren't so little anymore, she thought as she watched a wet Lisa chase a still untouched Rosé across the green.
Lisa was beautiful in her own simple way. Jennie had always thought that her cousin, Jisoo, was most physically appealing out of the five of them. No matter how many times her relatives say that the older Kim was ugly. But Lalisa Manoban was a different kind of beautiful. Jennie thinks that the young Midde had this magnetic air about her, a trait that she uses to effortlessly charm her way into your heart. It covers her whole, up to her darkish head of hair and her playful hazel eyes that turn into the color of dark honey when the sunlight reaches beyond her long lashes. She was a pretty girl but acted like a handsome boy.
Jisoo thinks Lisa looked and acted like one of Middlend's many monkeys and the nickname kind of stuck. What a funny bunch they were. A Rosé chipmunk. A Middelend Monkey. A strange Turtle Rabbit hybrid. And a cat eyed mandu ( dumpling; a taito dish). Jennie chuckles at the thought.
When they came back from the river, Jisoo and Bambam were already up and awake. Everyone was laughing, even Aunt Chitthip as they saw the three wet girls enter the drawing room. A wide grinned Bambam was holding Lalisa's cake, it was her favorite. A durian flavored chiffon and custom glaze icing with three candles across. The resident singer in their group, Rosé, started the birthday song and soon everyone was eating cake. That didn't last long when the ever troublesome duo, Jisoo and Lisa decided it was time for a food fight.
"YAH LALISA!" Rosé screeched as Lisa pushed her head forward making her plate of pastry her new make up look. Jennie squealed as some of the cake splattered over her expensive Tai silk skirt.
