I awake from my long rest, surprisingly not to William's voice. I had forgotten it was Friday, making the pizzeria open a bit later, I was slightly disheartened to awake by myself. I sat up in my bed, squinting at the sunlight which shined into my eyes from my window. I got up out of my bed taking a long stretch, I had only been here for a week and so much has happened. I stepped over to the mirror that hung above a white wooden desk, examining my features and fixing my hair.
I carefully put my uniform on, carefully adjusting it to my liking. I stepped out of my room into the hallway to search for William as we needed to go soon. Only to hear Evans muffled cries again. I sighed, I really don't wanna deal with this kid right now but I couldn't be so cold.
So, I hesitantly grabbed the doorknob of the child's room and entered. But this time, he was hiding under his bed?
"Monsters!" He cried, looking up at me with his large tired eyes. He looked like he hadn't slept. Tormented by his brother and now nightmares I guess.
I knelt down to him, "What do these "monsters" look like, huh?" I asked. Though I didn't believe him, but I couldn't help but be curious.
"Like them!" He shouted pointing at his plushies. Oh my god, he cannot be serious. How could something so tiny be dangerous.
I didn't even feel like entertaining this. "Right, anyway, when's your birthday party, Evan?" I asked, trying hopelessly to change the topic
"Why don't you guys believe me! Why does everyone hate me!" He cried, he began sobbing again
I sighed and left the room, though I wanted to help him, I had better things to do. I pushed the door open and walked to the kitchen, continuing my search for William. I found a door, the same one that held those strange blueprints. I pushed the door open, to see William, working on something. I don't think he noticed me, cause as I opened the door he didn't turn, or say a word.
"Hey, are you gonna take me to work?" I asked, whilst resting my hand on his shoulder . He seemed deeply focused, hardly noticing me until I made contact with him. He shivered when I did, breaking him from his focus.
"Oh hello there," He said whilst checking his watch. "I didn't realize what time it was, I forgot to wake you up." He said as if I didn't realize.
"Yeah, I kinda noticed." I sighed.
He sat the things he was working on down and turned his chair. He had one of those wheeled chairs, allowing him to turn all the way around to face me. "I guess we should get going then, huh?" he suggested. He's acting more unusually dry today, I just brushed it off.
"Mhm, before we're late." I agreed
We headed off to the pizzeria, not making any unnecessary stops along the way. We shortly arrived at the pizzeria, there was meant to be a party with a few kids. The children get dropped off, one by one, the parents leaving them at the pizzeria.I served pizza, as they ran in and out of the dining area.
At one point, I left for the bathroom. Only to come back to all the children disappeared. Where could they have gone? They were right here, and the party hadn't ended yet, right? I honestly didn't care too much, but I searched.
I heard a sound, assuming it was William I started speaking, "Have you seen those brats? I can't find them anywh-" As I opened the door to the backroom, my vision filled with red.
I had found the kids, but they were slaughtered. Blood coating the ground, I looked up to see William. I looked up at his bloodied face, he looked petrified, like he hadn't even done anything. His face was painted in a dark crimson, contrasting his light complexion. His hands, slathered with blood, so bright I could almost believe it was just pizza sauce. He knew what he had done, and he saw me connect the dots in my head.
