"So, what do you want to do first?"
Robin and Winter walked along the busy sidewalk towards downtown, their backpacks heavy on their backs. School had ended fifteen minutes ago, both fighting their way out of the building among the sea of students also eager to leave.
Winter pondered the question for a moment.
"Food first." She said.
Robin shrugged. "Sounds good to me."
The light changed to the symbol of the walking man, and they crossed the street. Winter held her breath and practically ran across. Ever since that incident with her sister, she's always been weary about crossing a busy intersection like this.
"Where do you wanna eat?" Winter asked once they made it safely to the other side of the street.
Robin's eyes lit up. "Oh, I've got just the place!"
Winter gestured to the space in front of her. "Lead the way, Captain."
Together, they strolled down the sidewalk, shoulders bumping into each other as they walked.
"Wanna hear something gross?" Winter said, shoving her hands into her pockets.
Robin gazed down at her with a confused yet amused expression. "I'm not sure I do."
Winter smiled at him. "You know Mr. Lain?"
Robin nodded his head. "He teaches English, right? I hear he's kinda creepy."
Winter made a noise of agreement. "He wears shirts so tight and thin that you can see his nipples."
Robin bursted out laughing. "Yeah, that is gross."
"And," Winter continued, "he's the reason why male teachers are not allowed to dress code girls anymore."
Robin scrunched his nose up in disgust. "I heard about that. He kept making girls cover up because he said they were 'distracting' him as he was teaching."
Winter scuffed her shoe against the sidewalk. "Well, I don't know about you, but knees and ankles are pretty fucking distracting if you ask me."
Robin laughed, and it sounded genuine. It made Winter feel warm. "Oh yeah," Robin said sarcastically, "Nothing gets me hard like some bare shoulders."
Winter rolled her eyes. "Anyways, he made this huge announcement today at the beginning of class that we weren't allowed to email him past 7 pm because he and his wife are, and I quote, 'trying to have a baby', and he'd be too 'busy' to get back to us."
Robin's jaw went slack. "Ew! Are you serious?"
Winter chuckled at his expression, which was slowly morphing into disgust. "I shit you not, that is exactly what that man said."
Robin ran a hand through his hair. "Why would he feel the need to tell a classroom full of teenagers that him and his wife were just...gross, I can't even say it." He shakes his head.
"I know." Winter said. "I really didn't need to know about my teacher's sex life, especially Mr. Lain's."
"And he needs the whole night?" Robin said in disbelief. "The guy's in his forties. He probably only lasts for two minutes, and that's being generous. What does he need the whole evening for?"
Winter laughed. "Honestly, I don't want to know."
Robin shook his head, a smile on his face. "Me neither."
