Chapter 22

AMIR

Adira had stormed out directly after Genesis had left. It doesn't take a genius to know that she's about to confront her.

I smirked, smoothing the jacket of my suit. Adira has gone to pick a fight no doubt and that sparked a little excitement within me. It would be wonderful to see how she handles herself during a confrontation such as this.

Genesis is like a breath of fresh air for me, everything about her that I've experienced so far is far more intense than I have ever experienced. And trust that I have had my fair share.

Flirting with her and teasing had every nerve ending in my body electrified. And she flirted right back.

"Tsk tsk tsk, I can't wait to show you why playing with fire is dangerous my love" I whispered to myself before making my way to the conference room.

On my way to the meeting I couldn't help my imagination from straying. The things I will do to her when the time has come.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the werewolf race, Amir is smiling" Armani greeted falling into step with me.

Shaking my head at his antics, I realized that I was indeed smiling.

"I heard you've been skipping your studies again" I said calmly.

"Umm. Technically no" he trailed off.

I tossed him a side glare and I watched as he resisted the urge to roll his eyes.

"It won't happen again" he groaned beneath his breath.

"I know" I stated.

He knew how seriously I took studying and I will not tolerate him slacking off. Not now, not ever.

There was only one reason that Armani would find me on a day he knew I'd be busy. Without waiting for him to asked I reached into my pocket and produced a credit card.

"You're the best! Now I can buy Genesis whatever she wants on our date" he wiggled his eyebrows.

A low growl came from my chest despite my better judgement. My wolf was still on edge regarding our mate, and he took every and anything as a threat. Including our kid brother apparently.

"Down big boy, down" He mocked as if speaking to a dog before speeding off down the hallway.

I snarled at his playfulness finding it infuriating.

Pushing through the double doors of the conference room I was greeted by the council's low chatter.

"King, Lady Adira has informed us of your infidelity" a member of the council stated before I could even take my place at the table.

"Don't speak" I replied gruffly walking to my seat at the head of the table.

Once I received the appropriate greeting I sat down, icily glaring at them all.

Not only were the council present but the elders of the noble family as well. Leaning back in my seat I waited for someone to speak.

"Well?" I asked.

By the initial approach I can tell that this will be a rather petty meeting.

"With all due respect your highness, Adira is suppose to be your wife what am I currently hearing of an infidelity scandal?" Adira's mother spoke.

"I've never proposed" I said with an air of indifference. "Next"

"But your highness Adira has been promised to you from you both were children." Mrs Valentino tried again.
