GENESIS

I've been standing in the frame of his open door for 3 whole minutes and not once did he look up.

The vicious anger that ignited within at his request to wear the gloves, slowly ebbed away along with the last shreds of my dignity.

I could see the tenseness of his shoulders as he furiously scribbled away on various documents. Royal business I assumed, business that I too would have to get involved him.

I took a mental picture of his current position, loving how his muscles slightly bulged and how powerful he looked doing such a simple task.

"Stop" finally he spoke.

"Stop what my King?" I asked finally moving into the room and closing the door behind me.

He didn't grace me with a response but rather did a quick scan of my body before delving back into what ever paper work he was taking care of.

I didn't speak, he didn't speak but it was a known fact between us two that we both had a lot to say.

His jaw ticked in irritated, willing him to speak his mind but his composure remained steadfast.

He gestured towards the various seats littered around his office but I remain rooted to the spot.

If he wants to be stubborn, I can also ask play this game.

He didn't look up when I didn't move, and he didn't look up when I started to childishly hum and tap my feet against the floor.

Who is this woman?

I internally questioned my behavior, scolding in disdain.

"Are we going to speak like adults?" I abandoned the stubborn front and made my way to the chair that was positioned directly in front of him.

Again I was ignored.

I sighed, almost in defeat.

I had unknowingly made a bed in which I was currently lying, with absolutely no clue how to get up.

"Lunch" he grunted, making me aware of just how hard he was gripping the pen.

My stomach did the most cliche thing and rumbled at the mention of food.

I wasn't embarrassed, it was after all a natural reaction to not having food for over 3 days.

I smelt the food before I saw it, and not long after a buffet styled table was rolled in.

The servers left as quickly as they came and Amir made his way over fixing our plates.

"We'll talk over lunch" his voice was softer, calmer, and did well in quelling the the storm that was brewing in my soul.

Lunch was tense as we each said our piece. He listened attentively as I explained to him how I had come to start ingesting the substance, that it was my father who had introduced it to me.

Unknowingly, I had been voluntarily severing the bond between my wolf and I as well as between her and her mate.

As he explained the true use of the potion which contained diluted portions of wolfsbane I noticed just how the relationship between myself and my wolf deferred in comparison to other wolves.

I had always blamed it on me being a rogue, yet Michael was a rogue and he was still very much in touch with his true nature.

I couldn't help but tuck my tail in shame, as I had allowed myself to be blindly manipulated by a man I swore couldn't control me to such an extent.

Even when I left, his dirty paws still left his prints on who I was. Pathetic.

"As beautiful as you are, self pity reduces that beauty to nothing. Stop."

His words were harsh, yet necessary.

I willed myself to get out of my own head, what's done is done.

"Mhm, you're right. The past is the past, we have no control of the past" I sighed, drinking the last of my juice.

"But we do have control of the future" his voice was sure, he had already made up his mind.

"Your father will die" I stared at him in shock, unwilling to accept his words.

Tears threatened to fall and I internally cursed myself that I still cared about this man.

He was still my blood after all.

I nodded. Unable to trust my voice to speak.

I wanted to oppose, I didn't want to co-sign the execution of my own father.

Yet I did.

Some deep twisted part of my soul, saw this as the ultimate revenge.

"Your disgust is almost palatable Genesis" he signed.

I titled my head and rested it on my folded hands. He may have misread my expression to be disgust at him, or his desire.

But that was far from the case, I was disgusted at myself for wanting to plead his cause.

"It's the way of wolves, upholding principles is paramount" he reached over to brush his fingers against my lips.

"I'm not disgusted at you Amir, his head is yours." A small smile graced his lips.

"In turn, your Beta's head is mine" his face held shock at my words. And he abruptly stood and rounded the table.

He reached my side in a split second, stooping to my level.

"No"

The one word was a slap to the face and it took me all of 2 minute to fully recover and find my words.

"No?" I asked rising to my feet.

"No" he repeated.

"Are you unaware of how unfair you sound Amir?" I asked turning in his direction.

"The world is unfair my love" he reached for my hand but I quickly recoiled.

"Your Beta assaulted me." I stared blankly.

"This isn't news"

His nonchalant behaviour began working my nerves.

"I deserve his head in return" I demanded.

He reached for my hand but this time I wasn't fast enough. This was the first time our hands connected since my operation and I was surprised at the little dots of sparks that danced on my skin.

He backed me into a corner and I suddenly became hyper aware that I hadn't brushed my teeth in a few days.

He leaned his forehead against mine and took deep breaths and I couldn't help but do the same, relishing in the comfort it provided.

His breathed fanned against my face in a whisper,

"To taint those precious hands with the bloods of the undeserving is a sin I'm not willing to commit" he held both my hands in his much larger ones and kissed them.

His words were like poetry, and I drunk it all up like a sun parched idiot.

"For you, I'll serve his head on a silver platter my Queen."
