Lunch Plans

As we were walking toward the new wing, my stomach started to growl. I was in need of some food and I needed it now!

" Hey, not that this tour isn't amazing but, where can a girl get some sustenance around here."

Madison was quick to move our tour to the outdoor courtyard and it was amazing. I think I am going to like it here...

Max pushes Madison and I to the side and rushed to the food stand.

"What a gem he is." Madison mutters in response.

"Don't take it offensively us Jackson's are serious about few things in this world but food just so happens to be number one on that list." I say to her as we head toward the line.

There were so many options I could feel the drool practically spilling out of my mouth as I mentally devoured everything in sight.

" Lunch is on me ladies, you are lucky to have a big strong man around to get you guys nice things." Max swung his arm over Maddy's shoulder.

I gagged at his no so subtle way of putting the moves on Madison but, she ever my favorite person was not having any of that.

She grabbed some whipped cream that was on the plate of some kid passing by and waited until my brother turned around before she shoved the whole thing on his face.

"Oops!" she said innocently trying to hold back her laugh.

Me on the other hand was doing no such thing, I doubled over in laughter as I saw my brother's bewildered expression as if he did not quite comprehend what just happened. His face was beet red and he had seemed to catch everyone's attention.

All of a sudden he got this evil glint in his eye. He then put on a bright smile that threw us off guard.

"Oh no!" I thought. I have seen that look before.

Max quickly pulls Maddy by her waist toward him and grabs the ranch that was on the same kids plate and poured it all over Madison.

"I think I like you better this way, this way we can eat each other up." Max said as Madison struggled to get out of his grip.

I cringed looking at the scene before me we must have looked like some real weirdos with food dripping down the both of them and me standing awkwardly on the sideline watching it unfold along with the other onlookers.

"Nothing to see here folks, just a man showing his woman whose boss is all." Max shouted smugly.

Finally escaping his grasp Madison stomps off ashamedly away from the added attention Max put on them.

Max quickly chases after her.

"Hey!" I yell. "What about my food?" I shout after them.

" I don't mind buying you lunch." a voice quietly answers from behind me.

I turn around to find a tall guy with dirty blonde hair, and the greenest eyes I have ever seen in my life, looking down at me with a shy smile.

"Thanks for the offer" I say. "But I should probably wait for them to come back, we're tour buddies ya see..."

"Oh so you must be new here I'm Hunter." He extends his hand toward me for me to shake.

I grab it. His hands feels so warm and strong as he squeezes my own. He looks at me expectantly, then I remember that he probably wants me to answer.

"Ava", I let out a little breathlessly while realizing I am still holding on to his hand.

I quickly let go,and let out a breathless laugh.

He chuckles at me. "Well Ava it's nice meeting you." He looks at me almost as if he is searching for something in my eyes he leans in a little bit closer but suddenly his eyes glaze over. He quickly steps away from me, rubs his eyes, and shake his head as if to take away anything he might have wanted to say.

That is when Max and Madison finally decide to make an appearance after their little disappearing act.

Madison's face looks flushed and Max's hair was a little disheveled.

"What have you two been up to?" I ask suspiciously.

"Nothing!" They both exclaim. Max held a slight smirk and Madison held a guilty demeanor.

Madison suddenly looks over at Max with a fire in her eyes at punches him in the arm.

"Ow! What was that for?" Max shouts.

"Because!" Madison shouts back. They immediately go back to bickering.

I hope this won't be a daily thing with them. I think as I roll my eyes.

I suddenly remember that Hunter was still there and was watching the scene with amusement in his eyes.

"Well, I better go, someone has to keep those two from killing each other." I say to Hunter as I turn to look back at the bickering pair.

"Sure thing." he replies. "Hey, if ever your looking for a lunch buddy I will be happy to be of some service." He says with sincere smile.

" I'll have to take you up on that." We look at each other for what seems like forever but was probably only a couple seconds before Hunter is called over by one of his friends.

He makes a slight waving motion with his hand before he goes down the courtyard to sit with a group of people I assume are his friends.

"I think I'm going to like it here" I think to myself.

Yet, I still feel like I am being watched, ehh I am probably just being paranoid.
