Chapter 10 Drew's POV
I smile and watch him as he walks off through the woods. I turn around and get the mail. It's a habit. I walk into the house to find Austin, Zach, and Cody playing video games. "And where have you been little girl?" asks Austin. Here's something you should know about my cousins, they are crazy and they act like little kids. But they're all right. "Shut up Austin we're in the same grade I'm not little," I state. "Yeah but I'm still older," he says not taking his eyes off the screen. "By a month dork face," I say. "But really where have you been?" Austin asks as he pauses the game and looks at me. "Detention," I say as I put the mail on the table, bag on the ground, and myself on the couch. "You got a detention on your first day?" Cody asks with awe. "No I got three breakdowns, two happy moments, four hugs, one best friend, two friends, an almost rape, and three detentions. But who's counting?," I say like it's nothing but it really is. "Wow are you okay?" Zach asks. "Well I am now. Chris helped me," I say. "Chris who? Chris Ingle?" asks Austin. "I don't know his last name but he said he lives behind us and he's your friend," I say. "Yep that's him. We've done some crazy things together," Austin says. I give him a weird look. "Wow not like that! One time we dressed up in black clothes And ran screaming around the neighborhood at midnight. I don't think Chris would want me to tell you what happened after that..," Austin says. "Who's your bestfriend?" asks Cody. "Chris," I say smiling. "Oooh you have a boyfriend," Austin teases. "Shut up. He's not my boyfriend. Plus you can't even get a girl," I say. "I do so have a girlfriend! Her names.....Max!" Austin says as he looks around. "Oh really? Is her last name Ride?" I ask picking up the book Maximum Ride. "Why do you even have this? It's a chick book," I ask. "For your information my girlfriend left it over here! Why do you always judge me?," Austin says while he fake cries and runs away, obviously trying to get away from the subject. "Well I have to go get ready," I say standing up. "Where are you going?" Zach asks. "To Starbucks," I answer. "With who Chriiiis?" Cody teases. "Yep and Danny and Jaydean," I say walking off. "Jaydean is hot just saying!" Cody yells. I walk to my aunts room. I'm kind of glad I'm here because my aunt is really cool. She let's us do whatever we want but my parents don't know that. I'm really close with my aunt and I talk to her about everything. "Hey aunt Lea?" I say. "Yeah sweetie?" she replies. "I'm going to Starbucks with Danny, Chris, and Jaydean, my friends from school," I say. "Oh the ones behind our house? They seem like fun kids," she says. By fun she probaby means they do crazy shit. "Yeah I'll be back later" I say as I shut her door. "Have fun but use protection!" she yells. Yeah that's my aunt for you. I go to my room. I wonder if I should change my clothes? Or would that make me seem like I'm trying to look better for him? If I do change should I change into something nice or something casual? If I don't change and he does would that seem like I don't care about him? I have no choice I have to get Austin's help. I knock on his door "Austin I need your help," I say quietly. He flips the door open like he knew I would need him "It's gonna cost you," he says leaning against the doorway not looking at me. "How much," I ask with a sigh. "Naw I'm just fucking with you what do you need help with?" he asks. "I'm going to Starbucks with Chris, Jaydean, and Danny and I don't know what to wear or if I should change or not," I say. "Come with me," he says. We go to my room and he looks through my closet. I end up wearing the same pants and putting on a tank top. It could look like I just got hot and put on a tank top or I'm dressing up for him. "Thank you Austin," I say. "Now if I need your help you help me deal?," he says. "Deal," I say and hug him. Ding dong. "Go have fun," he says and smiles.
