•* Sofara aka Gemini*•
THE DARK REALM, CZEEDARI ran through the forest, through the trees and down the creek, feeling the wind move through my fur until I reached the little, wooden shop.
Harper Evergreen's shop never stays in the same place twice so I was lucky to find it when I did.
I shifted back into my human form and pushed my long, dark braids away from my face as I clutched hard onto my small, brown bag.
I pushed the creaky door open and heard the ding of the bell as it collided with frame. The girl at the counter gave a smile, her skin was dark, her hair was black fading blue and her orange eyes shimmered as if magic.
"Sofara! What can I do for you, my lovely?" Harper pursed her red lips
I gave her a small nod as familiars do and answered her question, "I'm out of your remedy tea, I'd like a few pots, please"
It's a dangerous world I live in but thanks to Harper's remedy, my minor injuries won't be a bother.
She turned away from me and shuffled through her shelves before pulling down three travel sized jars and placed them on the counter.
I reached out for them but she drew them back, "ah, ah, ah" she grinned, "payment first"
A suppressed chuckle escaped from my mouth and from my bag I drew out a pouch of the finest clumps of golden sugar ever.
Witches are addicted to the stuff known as cinder toffee and it's a real bitch to find; I had to wrestle with a bear for it but it's something Harper can't refuse.
The girl squealed upon seeing the pouch, she snatched it from my grasp and kissed it, "you're a dear, Sofara, you really are"
She then proceeded to slide the pots over to me which I carefully put inside my bag.
"For this, you can pick out a trinket from by beloved box- free of charge" she pointed to the velvet cylinder which I walked over to, opened the lid and scanned its contents
As I rummaged through, the door's bell rang once again and in entered two people, a boy and a girl of somewhat similar age.
Her long, straight hair was snow-white and her skin was faint and pale like a sickly child. The shiny black jumpsuit she wore stuck to her body, defining her curves and by her high heeled feet, a black cat purred every time it brushed against her.
He was slightly taller and his shade of white hair was a tad darker. His skin had more colour to it too but like her, he was dressed in black- His black clothes were much looser though.
The girl's electric blue eyes shared a look with his crimson red pair before both sets landed on Harper
They entered further and the boy spoke up, "we request a locators spell, witch"
"Alright" shrugged Harper, "let's discuss payment"
The boy inched closer to her, making her stare deep into his eyes, "you will perform a locators spell for us"
"You said, I'd like to know what's in it for me" Harper replied, much more unbothered than me. The boy blinked confused, Harper's smile only grew, "your eyes seem to be bothering you, may I suggest glasses?"
Harper motioned her head towards a rack of classes that had appeared on the counter as she uttered the last words.
The boy appeared aggravated at her behaviour and stepped forward as a threat. The girl he was travelling with stepped in, she blocked his chest with her hand and said to him, "relax, Theo, the little witch is just confused that's all"
"I am, am I? I honestly had no clue" returned Harper.
What is she doing? She's playing a dangerous game, a game I'm afraid she may lose. These people seem dangerous.
The girl drew out a tattered old book and I scoffed to myself because, really? Does she really think Harper with do her dirty work for an old book?
Apparently she will. I don't understand why but Harper's eyes lit up and she just gave into them, "alright deal!"
The boy and girl shared a look once more.
"Alright then, what or who are we looking for?" Harper asked from over her shoulder, she was drawing out an old map you see.
The boy, Theo, I think his name to be responded, "the tomb of the first celestial"
I gasped a little and he heard me, Theo shot me an intimidating look, I coughed as of to say 'I heard nothing' and continued my search through Harper's trinkets. He stopped staring at me and back at Harper.
Harper had stopped straight in her tracks, "there ain't no such thing.."
She's right, there has been no proof of the first celestial's tomb, his own son knows nothing of the matter. Everyone knows this.
The girl piped in, "there is, we know it to be here in the dark realm, we just need to find it's whereabouts"
The young witch gave in, "alright then, give us the hair"
"The hair?" The boy puzzled
"Yes the hair, or the blood, or the teeth.. or. Any other DNA"
"DNA?"
"Why are you repeating everything I say?"
The girl intercepted once more, "we didn't bring any?"
Harper huffed, "didn't bring any? Well if you want me to preform this spell for you I Need the DNA!"
"Whose DNA?"
"God, you people are fools! The DNA from the first celestial's bloodline of course!"
"Right.." Theo said unsurely, "let's go get that DNA? C'mon willow"
Theo and willow awkwardly left the shop with Harper waving, "until next time!"
As soon as they left she groaned, "God what a pair of morons! Ask me for a damn locators spell without any DNA, fools I tell you, FOOLS!"
I giggled at her frustration, she calmed down at my sound and laughed herself, "find anything you like?"
I hadn't really been looking but I picked up a odd shaped, shiny, green crystal with string wrapped around it to wear as a necklace
"I quite like this" I say, putting it on
Harper smiled one of her infamous smiles, "ah, hold that close to your heart, Sofara, you never know when it might come in handy"
"But what does it do?"
"No clue"
"But you said it might come in handy"
"Did I?" She played dumb
I was at a loss for words, but I eventually found them, "you are the most perplexing person I have ever met"
"Thank you" she sounded so genuine, "best be off now, I'll be moving soon"
I nodded and waved goodbye, she waved back. I didn't consider anyone a friend but if I did Harper would be one.
I left the shop and transformed into my Tiger form, into the freeness of it, there's honestly nothing better.
I looked back but the little wooden shop had vanished. I gave a nod as a farewell and sprinted off back into the forest.
