Avaenará POV:
It's been a week since the letter from the Eastern Empire arrived. I was the only one attending. My younger sister, the imperial princess decided to stay back and watch over the empire in my absence. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous at all. It's been forever since I've last seen Sovieshu and Navier. Ever since I've been crowned empress I haven't had time to make visits or send a letter.

"What's wrong your imperial majesty?" I turn to see Mira with a concerned look on her face. I softly smile and shake my head. "Nothing Mira. Just a little nervous." I answer.

"What is there to be nervous about your imperial majesty?" "It's just...what if they're mad at me for not staying on contact? What if they hate me? What if they don't want to see me? What if-"

Mira softly grabbed both of my hands, stopping my ranting. "You have nothing to worry about your imperial majesty. I'm sure they will be delighted to see you again." Mira gave me an encouraging smile.

I sighed to calm down. "Your right Mira. Thank you." "Of course your imperial majesty."

"You should get some sleep Mira. We still have a long journey." I can see she was tired, especially from walking up early this morning. She nodded. "If you insist your imperial majesty.

She lightly laid herself across the bench and closed her eyes for a well deserved rest.

As she slept I looked out the window. Off in the distance we're farms. People working in the fields, animals grazing the ground. Overall a peaceful view.

'I wonder what it's like to be normal.'

Soon later my eyes started to close and drifted to sleep as well.

I was later shaken on me shoulder lightly. "Your imperial majesty we've arrived." I hear Mira's voice. I light nodded.

We both looked out the window to see we were in the city of the eastern empire. Eventually the castle of the eastern empire came into my view. I put on a soft smile and light brushed the dress.

I felt the carriage stop. I was a bit nervous and Mira could tell. She softly grabbed my left hand in hers and gave it a reassuring squeeze before smiling at me. I smiled at her back before I heard footsteps get closer to the carriage.

Once the footsteps stop the door to the carriage open and a voice could be heard announcing our presence.

"Make way for her imperial majesty! The Imperial Empress of the Nothern Empire! Her Imperial Empress Avaenará!"

A hand was held out for me to take. It was the captain of my seven royal knights, Duke RM. These seven are different from any ordinary knights. They all came from noble families and since birth they've been promised to protect my family and I. On top of that, they are all Dukes. Third highest ranking in high society. And people very special to me.

RM smiled as I took his hand and he helped me down. Once I was down I hear him also helping Mira down. Once she was on the ground we both made our way to meet Navier and emperor Sovieshu.

Once we made it to them I gave a curtsy as a greeting. "Emperor Sovieshu, Empress Navier. One behalf of the northern empire we thank you for your invite and hospitality. My sister, the imperial princess apologizes for her absence on this wonderful occasion." I say in a slight firm voice. As we get up they bow back.

"The honor is ours Imperial Empress. We thank you for blessing us with your presence. We also accept the imperial princess's apology. Please make yourself acquainted as you stay." Emperor Sovieshu says. I could tell he was trying not to mess up. When this is all finish and the three of us have some alone time I can't wait to tease him like I used to when we were younger.

There's a difference between rulers and imperial rulers. The northern empire was the first empire to be built and established. Soon came the southern, eastern, and western. Because of being the first empire in history we hold more power than any others. The Claris family is the eldest and most powerful.

My mother was the secretary for my father. They knew each other since they were children and when my father became emperor he named her his secretary. Soon after they fell in love mother became the empress.

They fell in love, married, then had my sister and I. But things changed when my father fell in love with his mistresses. He pushed my mother, sister, and I aside. He even once told us that if one of his mistress got pregnant he would make the child the heir to the throne instead of me. After my fifteen birthday they were both killed, making me become the youngest empress in history. People overlooked me for my age but I showed them wrong. I won wars, political debates, gave rights to those who deserve it. I did things no other ruler of my kingdom could accomplish. Without the northern empire no other empire would exist, which is why we're known as imperial.

As they stood up from their bow I spoke. "As much as we would like to chat I believe we should wait until tomorrow." I say. "Of course imperial empress. Please allow Countess Eliza to show you the north palace." A brunette haired lady in a bun and a dark purple dress made her way towards us a bowed.

"Greetings imperial empress. Please allow me to show you the north palace." I nodded. "Of course."

Countess Eliza stood up and showed us the way. As I walked past I gave Navier a small smile only she could see. As I passed Sovieshu I gave a stare with a hint of emotion but one he won't be able to tell of.

Countess Eliza showed us the north palace and our rooms before bidding us goodbye. While we were here we didn't bump into any mistress, yet.

I decided to spend the rest of the day in my chambers, since I was to tired.

Once nightfall Mira and my lady-in-waiting Darla brought us our dinners and we talk about various things before bed.

Darla ran a bath and laid out my night gown for me. It was a night gown passed down from empress to empress in my kingdom. They say the designer who was also a mage (a person who can do magic) created this night gown blessed it so anyone who wears it will receive good luck for the rest of their lives.

People believed it because the gown was a gift to the empress at the time and she was blessed with a child after trying for many years. Same happened years later when another empress who was very ill from a disease recovered to full health.

After having my nightly tea and water I laid on the soft creme and blue satin bed. It wasn't compare to the ones the northern empire's, which were made of silk or velvet but it came second on my list.

As soon as I laid my head on the pillow I drifted off into my dream with the moon shining down on my face.
