Dakota's POV

"We're going to try to leave your hair a little puffy today, just so it looks messy whenever the kiss is over," my hair stylist says before giggling. Meanwhile, my makeup artist places a little bit of pink blush onto my cheeks to make me look flustered. When both of them are done, I stare at my reflection and I let out a breath, making my bangs flutter on my forehead.

Jamie sits a few seats to my right. I steal a glance at him, the hair stylist now playing with his copper locks, spraying hairspray here and there to lock them in place. He's looking down at his phone but then he looks up, and our eyes meet through his mirror. He sets his mouth into a thin line but his eyes are soft. Our contact breaks when he's asked to get ready on set and not soon after, I follow after him.

I'm not nervous about the kiss. I'm nervous about how I'm going to feel after it happens.

"Good, you both look wonderful," Sam's British accent stops my current thoughts. "Just do what you practiced this morning except just add the kiss. It has to be intense and sexy."

Jamie stands next to me now and I hear him clear his throat.

"Jamie, you have to show as if you're hungry for her kiss but also remember to-"

"To grab and place her hands above her head, got it," he finishes.

"Dakota, just get really into it, alright?" she laughs. I smile and nod, my stomach suddenly doing flips.

We take our places inside the wide elevator and Sam sets up the camera to our left.

"You okay?" Jamie asks as he stands in front of me.

I nod, not really trusting my voice at the moment, but I turn my gaze onto his face and I see worry etched all over it.

What is he so worried about?

"Okay! Ready in five, four, three, two..."

This is it. It's just another act. Not a real thing that means anything. Just breathe.

"Fuck the paperwork," Jamie voices out loud and both his hands and body slam me against the elevator wall and then...

Black. All I see is black. Only Jamie's face is distinct in my vision and I realize that his face is inches from me, his mouth slightly open as his breath mixes with mine.

"What the hell is going on?" Sam's voice can be heard some distance away. Jamie still has me pinned to the wall, our eye contact never faltering.

What are you thinking about, Jamie?

"The lights went off on the whole building!" I hear someone shout.

Jamie finally pulls away and I close my eyes. I find it hard to swallow.

"Damn it! Can we get an electrician here ASAP?" Sam rounds the camera and walks up to us. "I sure could use a coffee or a smoothie, right now," she says to us as she runs her hands up and down her face.

"That actually sounds amazing. I could get it for you, if you want, Sam," Jamie offers.

"I guess there isn't much you could do here until they fix the lights," Sam says.
