Chapter 3: A problem?

While Haruka was fighting the berserker, a knife was deflected by my barrier.

"Tch! I knew it"

I turned around and saw the Master of Berserker standing in the tree branches.

"A barrier?" she asked

I picked up one of the training swords and prepared my stance.

I am pretty sure that Haruka can't win against Berserker, I should find a way to escape

The girl threw more daggers the others went past my barrier but I managed to evade it. It seems like practicing some self defense paid off.

I talked to Haruka through Telepathy again

(Haruka can you find a way to escape?)

(Hmmmm....... It will be hard! This big guy is too hard and regenerate too quickly)

(How fast can you move?)

(Hmmmm. I don't know yet)

(Got it! If you find the chance to escape tell me)

The girl and I are stuck in a staring contest, it might be because she is assessing the situation or just playing with me.

I started making my move first. I picked up some daggers from the ones she threw and I threw the daggers back to her. But she easily dodged them.

"This is hard, I never practiced throwing daggers"

I went to the debris for cover the girl did the same. This is becoming a shootout or rather a dagger throwing war.

There is no signs of her? Maybe she went in circles. But to my surprise she appeared above me. I dodged her first attack and went on a defensive. She keeps attacking with daggers at both hand and I keep blocking them. I reinforced the training sword with my mana so it won't break easily.

"You are trained" she stepped back

"Luckily I am" I replied

She started going offensive throwing daggers at me, I deflected them with my training sword. This isn't easy with the way she moves she is obviously a professional assassin. Her movements are fast and always targeting my vitals. One wrong move and I am dead.

She took a few step backs and laid down her weapons. Is she retreating?

"You are talented, but you are still an amateur" she said

What did she meant by tha——

I fell into my knees, and I found myself grasping for breath

"Wha-what is happening" I said as I was gasping for air

Haruka came running at lightning speed to cover me.

"Ken are you alright??!!?!?"

"Dammit do I look like I am OK?!?!?!?" my hands feels like they are freezing

"You really are still an amateur when it came to Holy Grail Wars" she said again

Haruka went into the defensive

"Poison?" I asked

"Mana Exhaustion" she answered

Damn!!! She's right this are symptoms of mana exhaustion

"Ken, hang in there"

The Berserker went to the girl's side

"Let us play more little lady" the Berserker said happily

Dammit I am running out of mana, Haruka will die here should I use a command spell to make her run away? But........... Tch!!! There is no other choice.

"Now I will ask again. The weapon do you know anything about it?" she asked

"Ken, what are they talking about?"

"Seriously, I don't know!!!" I answered

"I see.....then die"

Berserker made his move quickly and kicked Haruka. Haruka flew pretty far hitting the debris.

"This is payback for earlier. WAHAHAHAH!!!" "Berserker finish him immediately." "YES MAASSSTEEERRRR" he raised his club

Dammit I don't want to die but I don't want Haruka to die. I can see her crying to tears but...... 

BUT

"KEEEEEENNNN!?!?!?!?!"

"BY MY COMMAND————"

"That's no good Berserker of the West" a mysterious voice echoed

And the next thing I knew the Berserker flew again.... Does this guy love flying or what? I should stop with the jokes. But who is that.

When I looked there is a large man in front, he has tanned skin with tattoos all over his body he has around neck long hair and holding a blade I have never seen before in one hand.

"Tch! Another interruption? Who are you?" the girl asked

Haruka recovered and immediately came to helped me stood up.

"Are you a friend or a foe?" Haruka asked while letting out a bloodlust pointing her blade against the large man who saved me

"WAHAHAHA!!! You don't need to be aware of me little lady!!!" the large man's voice echoed

"HEY WHERE IS YOUR MASTER?" the girl asked again

So the large man was a servant huh? Figures only servants can make that Berserker fly away.

The Berserker who flew away came back like nothing happened.

"HEHEEHE!!!HAHAHAHAHAH! IT MUST BE MY LUCKY DAY!!!!" the berserker shouted

"A Gladiator? I have heard them from the west but I never thought they are such a battle junkie" the large man said

Is he a Saber or a Rider? Is he a friend or a foe? Which one is it?

"Ken!!! Are you alright?"

"I'm fine I just used too much mana"

We can't bring our guards down moreover in front of them.

The Berserker launch a body slam in the large man, the large man countered with a punch that made Berserker sent back a few meters away

"GREAT PUNCH!!!" the Berserker said

"HEHE WHAT A HARD BODY WORTH DESTROYING" the large man replied

This looks like a battle of perverts. A masochist and a sadist.

*Hands Clapping*

"Hai!Hai!" a mysterious man shouted behind us

A young man appeared behind us Haruka didn't even notice it. Who--- Who is this guy?

Berserker (バーサーカー, Bāsākā?), Mad Warrior and Heroic Spirit of Berserk Rage (狂戦士の英霊?), is one of the Four Cavalry Classes among the seven standard Servant classes summoned for the Holy Grail War.

 Servants placed within this Class are always Heroic Spirits who have gone berserk during battle at least once in their lifetime. 

This trait allows them to use the special ability Mad Enhancement, which trades their consciousness and sanity for a large power boost. 

This Class is usually for magi who have summoned Heroic Spirits with insufficient abilities and attributes, allowing them to strengthen their Servants to make up for their lower attributes and compete against stronger opponents. While it is ideal for Servants to reach the level of the Heroic Spirit, the Class allows for their attributes to surpass even the original. 

If used on an already strong Heroic Spirit, such as Heracles, they will become empowered to truly extraordinary levels. The abuse of this to create powerful Servants has made the Class referred to as the strongest of all seven classes.
