Longevity theft

There will always be

More s t a r s in the sky

Than s e c o n d s your heart

Beats in silence and in noise

And in sound's greyest areas.

It would even break upon

Learning that it could never

Beat in color. So, be my guest.

S t e a l one. I'm sure the heavens

Above you will even crack a smile

As you take one away from them,

Away from their cold, dead hands,

The d u s t that merely dirties their home

And makes them s n e e z e on occasion.

One god's t r a s h is another human's

T r e a s u r e . Far and few between,

You'd think, but you'll meet h a l f w a y

Eventually. As I am confident

That there will always be

Enough space between land and sky

For heaven and earth to c o l l i d e.

In fact, one would even say that it's

Enough for lightning to strike through

You and the very star that's in your hand.
