I don't completely agree with this poem myself, and friends and family has said they don't agree what is said in this poem. I am sharing this as there will be some people who do agree with what has been said in the poem, and as it is a good poem regardless of the meaning. This poem is about a man who is defending is stance on why he didn't go to war to fight.

Why do we have war?

Defending pride?

To kill?

Or for glory?

Girls will run

For the 'brave' men.

The 'brave' men who fought,

The 'brave' men who died,

These men are stupid to die.

Not having a story

To tell your children?

But what about being there?

Children don't need stories;

Children need a dad!

Children need love!

Neighbours can talk,

But I am healthy.

They may have fought,

But I can work.

I can help my family.

I can survive
