Just shoot for the stars, if it feels right. Then aim for my heart, if you feel like ~ Maroon 5

I entered the kitchen throwing a glare in Victor's direction as soon as I saw him. He eyed the red spots I tried to cover up with makeup. The corner of his lips turned upwards slightly.

He was leaning on the counter, still in his pajama pants, a bowl of cereal in his hands. His cold eyes reached mine, twinkling with the secrets of us last night.

I was forced to tear my eyes away from him as my mom walked in, swinging a set of keys on her finger. She said good morning and grabbed her usual cup of coffee before turning to me. "You ready to go, Aniya?" Her curly hair was set in a bun on top of her head, her hazel eyes a bit brighter this morning.

I sighed, glancing at Victor who was back to eating his cereal. "Yeah," I looked down at the uniform I was wearing. My black and red outfit fit snugly to my curvy figure.

I have what you would call a pear shape. Apparently I didn't get the big boobs gene from any sides of the family. I used to be upset about it and compare myself to all my cousins.  I later on learned to love the body I'm in and not care anymore.

When we reached the restaurant Val immediately darted towards me. She paused before my mom, almost forgetting she was her boss and currently at a work setting. She greeted her properly and let her pass to her office.

She turned to me once she was out of ear shot and grabbed onto my arm. "Aniya, you won't believe what happend yesterday!"

"That cute guy with the green eyes came back and asked you out?" I guessed.

She shook her head no, sighing. "I wish, but no. I was serving this pretty big table for the evening. Long story short one of the guys was being an idiot and spilled hot fudge all over me. Don't ask how. And they were so sorry they gave me their extra tickets to the upcoming Jack Harlow concert." She bounced up and down in her place.

My eyes widened and my mouth dropped, "You're lying! No fucking way, I love Jack Harlow." She pulled me to the back and showed me her proof. "You're going to meet Jack Harlow, oh my god. Val, how are you that lucky?"

She shrugged her shoulders giving me a wink, "I just got it like that. He's going to love me. I already know it."

"Who are you taking with you?" We walked out the back room to the dining area. I tied my hair back into a ponytail and grabbed the dirty dishes left for me on an empty table.

"I don't know, my mom maybe? No, I'll probably just bring one of my friends from college."

I nodded my head, "nice nice." She went back to working and manning some tables, taking orders.

After a few hours my shift was finally over and I was burnt out. I wish I was in my bed right now fast asleep. Just as I walked out the changing room in my regular clothes, Lily walked through the door.

A smile spread on her face but it faltered slightly. "What's up with your face," she stared at it openly, one of her eyes squinted.

My hand flew to my face, "what's wrong with it?"

She snorted, "Aniya, you do not know how to use makeup. The shade you used is way lighter than your skin."

I dropped my hand, "oh," I pulled out my phone and opened its camera. Sheesh she was right. I grimaced at my reflection, those YouTube videos did not help me this morning.

"What are you doing here?" I turned off my phone, shoving it in my back pocket.

"I came to pick you up. Remember you said you would buy me ice cream if I did ." She grinned.
