A/n: trigger warning ⚠️ abuse/rape/suicide/
Lets End This Thing.
"Everyone. It has been five months. Since we were all here together. Everything has been reviewed. I would like to call Henry Nash to the stand as we watch this clip." Preston gets to it.
It is a side by side clip one where I am 5 and asleep. And Niel when he was 7 and asleep.
It is dark in both clips.
But it is one of the twins.
I am horrified witnessing something being injected in our heads.
Preston spent months with others watching film. I can't believe he found this.
"Henry is this you?"
He viscously shakes his head. "No."
"Then?"
"It's not me. I don't know what that was."
"Could this be Ryder?"
"I don't know."
"Does the man in the clip look like Ryder?"
"Yes."
"Do you believe he is capable of such a thing?"
Henry pauses before answering. "No."
"Why?"
"He couldn't possibly do that to a child?"
Henry is shaking. Something is wrong.
"You don't think he can do that to a child or to your child."
"To my child." He's pissed.
"Do you have any idea what was in the syringe?"
"No."
Henry is dismissed.
Caroline has taken the stand.
"Miss Nash. Are you aware of this night?"
"No."
Preston plays a clip of the hallway. Caroline walks up with laundry. She sees him exit my room. "What are you doing Ryder?"
"Just checking on her."
"She is exhausted and coming down with a cold. Stay away from her out of training."
"Caroline-"
"Stop trying to force yourself in a position already filled. You are a great friend for caring about her, but you are not her father-"
"You and I both know I should be!"
"What's with all the yelling there are children sleeping." Henry comes up the stairs with another bin of laundry.
"Nothing. I was just going to bed." Ryder leaves.
The clip ends.
"How about now?" Preston looks to Caroline.
She is sending daggers to Ryder.
She confirms the last question.
"Mrs Nash. Please tell us what you did after."
"I went to check on Saffron. She ran a fever all night. Had the worst sleep. It was just awful. I have never seen anything that bad before and I have treated soldiers who were so sick they couldn't even hold down water."
"Did she complain about headaches?"
"No."
"Did her sickness fade soon?"
