By the end of class I was basically running out of there. I learned again that the guy's name was Chase not Chad. Anyway, he kept bugging me about the hospital bill and every time I would try to tell him I would pay but I don't have a good job, the professor would interrupt us.

"Hey! Jamie!" Chase shouts after me. I stop and turn around annoyed slightly due to the fact that he still doesn't know my name.

"I already told you it's Jodi." I tell him a little to harshly.

"Yeah whatever." he waves me off.

"What do you mean 'whatever,' I'm offering to pay for your bill!" I shout at him offended.

He looks surprise by my sudden out burst but suppresses it with a small smirk and eyes filled with amusement.

"You're the one that punched me though..." His smirk growing.

"Yeah and I'll punch you again if you keep bugging me about it," I say breathlessly, his eyes widen slightly, "listen, I'm sorry I just don't have a job and I really need one to pay you back." I look down at my feet.

"Oh...Well why didn't you say so?" I look up confusion covers my face. He smiles, "There's a bunch of job offers where I work."

"A lifeguard?" I question.

"No a unicorn," he replies sarcastically, "yes a lifeguard."

I roll my eyes but can't help the excitement I feel about being a lifeguard. "Sure I'll check it out," I give him a small smile, "thanks."

He gives me a small smile back, "no problemo." He stops the smile and sneers, "well I'm only doing this cause my boss needs more help and I need that bill payed."

I roll my eyes, "Whatever, fine by me."

I slam my door shut as I walk into my apartment, going strait to the kitchen. I made myself a peanut butter sandwich and chewed it breathing out a long harsh sigh. Today was exhausting , I didn't get any sleep last night because I kept having those nightmares of my brother and that man. I shudder at the thought and let my eyes wonder until they stopped at a knife. I pick it up and stared at the big sharp object that could end a life. That could end my life if I just... No Jodi don't think like that. Even though life can be hard I have to be strong for my parents, because they've been so strong after what happened with my brother. But still, they don't know the full story. They don't know about what happened to me during that time. Tears formed into my eyes. I take a deep breath and release. Good thoughts, I tell myself, good thoughts. I try to stop the tears but the more I hold in, the worse I feel. So I start to cry and cry until there are no tears left and I'm just left broken.
